    Abstract: A hearing aid has a housing to which a standard battery compartment can be removably attached, or to which an audio connection, including a battery compartment, can be optionally removably attached in place of the standard battery compartment. The necessity of an external audio connection, which adds to the size of the hearing aid, is thus eliminated.
