  • Patent number: 9163942
Abstract: A device for locating a vehicle and a method of generating location information are provided. The location device includes or is associated with a satellite-positioning location interface and a dead-reckoning location module. The satellite-positioning location interface and the dead-reckoning location module allow the location device to generate vehicle location information. The vehicle location information is generated by the dead-reckoning location module when the vehicle is detected as being in an area of poor satellite signal reception. A calibration of the dead-reckoning location module is provided when the vehicle is detected as being in an extended area with good satellite signal reception.

  • Publication number: 20140305199
Abstract: A system for monitoring the pressure in the tires of a plurality of wheels of a motor vehicle comprises a first sensor module that comprises at least one sensor measuring the angular velocity of at least part of the plurality of wheels of the motor vehicle. A means is provided for determining, from the angular velocity of at least part of the plurality of wheels of the motor vehicle, a signal indicative of a first value of the heading of the motor vehicle. A second sensor module generates a signal indicative of a second value of the heading of the motor vehicle, and an abnormal situation with the pressure in at least one of the tires is determined when the first value of the heading of the motor vehicle and the second value of the heading of the motor vehicle are not consistent with one another.

  • Patent number: 8466691
Abstract: A method for determining an insulation resistance of an electric DC circuit having at least a first and a second terminal includes performing a measurement cycle, verifying whether the change of a measured current exceeds a predetermined change rate, calculating a total insulation resistance, and calculating a first insulation resistance between the first terminal and a reference potential and a second insulation resistance between the second terminal and the reference potential. An insulation resistance measurement circuit is also provided for carrying out the aforementioned method.

  • Patent number: 7313953
Abstract: The system comprises a control unit (17), and, on each wheel, a pressure sensor (12) and an emitter (13) in order to transmit to the control unit (17) a pressure signal comprising data for identification of the sensor, and means (17) for determination of the speeds of rotation of the wheels, in order to associate (174,179) with each pressure signal the wheel of the corresponding sensor (12), and which comprise means (179) for comparison of data of speeds of rotation of the wheel, determined in different manners (34,50), by the periods (Ti) of the envelopes for modulation of the signals emitted by the emitters (13) and by the wheel anti-blocking device (20).

  • Patent number: 6922140
Abstract: According to one exemplary embodiment, a system for monitoring the pressure of tires of a motor vehicle with location of the wheels comprises a monitoring element and a pressure sensor. Each pressure sensor is associated with a transmitter with which it transmits to the monitoring element a radio signal comprising sensor identification data. The system comprises a means for determining the phase shift between two radio signals transmitted at two distinct times for each wheel. The system further comprises a means for determining the rotation angle, modulo 2?, traveled by each of the wheels between the two times. The system further comprises a means for comparison between the phase shifts and the rotation angles.

  • Publication number: 20040267493
Abstract: A method for determining a rotational speed of a rotating object of a vehicle includes providing information unrelated to the rotational speed of the object of the vehicle using an electronic device and providing information related to the rotational speed of the object of the vehicle using the electronic device. One example of a system employing this method is a tire pressure sensor system. The tire pressure sensor provides information regarding the pressure of the tire of the vehicle. Likewise, a periodicity in a signal transmitted by a transmitter associated with the tire pressure sensor can be used to determine the rotational speed of the wheel of the vehicle to which the tire is attached.
