  • Patent number: 9154899
Abstract: A wireless communication device optically receives an image that is associated with a user device and processes the received image to generate image data. The wireless communication device transfers user information and the image data to a communication network. The communication network processes the user information and the image data to generate configuration data to allow the user device to access the communication network. The communication network transfers the configuration data to a communication transceiver. The communication transceiver receives a communication from the user device, and in response to the configuration data, the communication transceiver transfers the communication to the communication network.

  • Patent number: 8909618
Abstract: A system is provided. The system comprises an at least one computer system, a services database, and an application that, when executed on the at least one computer system, receives a message containing information about a digital image, the information containing a request for a service. The application also transmits an image translation request, wherein the image translation request includes the information. The application also receives a translation containing a service code, validates the services to be provided associated with the service code based on information in the services database, and when validation succeeds, provides a communication service, wherein digital images are associated with the provision of services based on information in the services database.

  • Patent number: 8781968
Abstract: A system is provided for dynamic display based on estimated viewers. The system includes a sensor, a server, and a dynamic display. The sensor senses traffic in an environment. The server estimates a number of potential viewers based on sensing the traffic, selects content based on the number, and communicates the content. The dynamic display receives the content and displays the content for the potential viewers.

  • Patent number: 8731301
Abstract: A computer implemented method is provided for display adaptation based on captured image feedback. Content that comprises a marker is displayed. An image of the content is captured by a mobile device. Whether the marker in the image is recognized is determined. The marker in the image is analyzed in response to a determination that the marker in the image is not recognized. The content is adjusted based on the analyzed marker. The adjusted content is displayed. The marker in the image is analyzed to determine at least one of a time and a location associated with capturing the image of the content in response to a determination that the marker in the image is recognized. Another content is displayed based on at least one of the time and the location determined by analyzing the marker.

  • Patent number: 8251290
Abstract: A wireless communication device optically receives and processes a bar code and a background item to the barcode to generate image data. A processing system processes the image data to identify a bar code portion of the image data and to identify a background portion of the image data. The processing system processes the barcode portion of the image data to generate decoded data. The processing system processes the background portion of the image data to generate background data. The processing system processes the decoded data and the background data to determine if the bar code is valid. The wireless communication device generates a bar code valid signal if the bar code is valid and generates a bar code invalid signal if the bar code is invalid.

  • Patent number: 8254785
Abstract: An image encodes a voice message and communication data for delivery of the voice message. A wireless communication device optically receives and processes the received image to generate image data. The image data represents the voice message and indicates the communication data. The wireless communication device processes the image data, and in response, wirelessly transmits the voice message for delivery based on the communication data.

  • Patent number: 8195227
Abstract: An image encodes processing parameters for a set of images. A wireless communication device optically receives and processes the received image to generate first image data. The image data represents the processing parameters. The wireless communication device processes the first image data to obtain the processing parameters. The wireless communication device then optically receives the set of images. The set of images encode second image data. The wireless communication device processes the optically received set of images based on the processing parameters to obtain second image data.

  • Patent number: 8000727
Abstract: A communication system wherein a wireless communication device optically receives an image of a location, processes the image to obtain image data, and transmits the image data and wireless communication device user information to a communication network as a control request. A server receives the control request and processes the image data and user information to determine the location. The server then processes the location to determine contact information for an authorizing party and transfers an authorization request to the authorizing party. If the server receives authorization from the authorizing party, then the server transfers a control interface to the wireless communication device. The wireless communication device receives a control instruction responsive to the control interface and transfers a control message to the server. The server receives the control message and transfers the control message to a control system at the location. The control system implements the control instruction.

  • Patent number: 7823779
Abstract: A wireless communication device optically receives an image and processes the optically received image to generate image data. The wireless communication device receives a Radio Frequency (RF) signal and processes the RF signal to derive an image data processing parameter. The image data processing parameter could be an encryption key, authentication code, access code, or some other parameter. The wireless communication device processes the image data and the image data processing parameter to convert the image data into a different format. The different format could be decrypted, authenticated, accessed, or some other converted form of image data.
