  • Patent number: 6143415
Abstract: The invention relates to a bonding agent for PVDF, containing alkyl (alkyl)acrylate units and units bearing a carboxylic acid functional group. This bonding agent, containing PVDF, forms a barrier to hydrocarbons. The invention also relates to the material including the present bonding agent, especially petrol pipes including polyamide and the present bonding agent, in conjunction with PVDF.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 3, 1996
Date of Patent: November 7, 2000
    Assignee: Elf Atochem S.A.
Inventors: Serge Lorek, Philippe Bussi, Philippe Renouard
  • Patent number: 6041826
Abstract: Polyamide-based petrol supply tube, especially for engines, characterized in that it comprises an outer layer of polyamide, a middle layer of fluoropolymer, preferably of PVDF, and an inner layer of polyamide, these layers being respectively bonded to each other by layers of adhesive bonding agent.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6040025
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a multilayer material having in order a layer of fluorinated polymer, a layer of binder for fluorinated polymer having a polymer A with moieties (1)-(4), and a layer of polymer which is incompatible with the fluorinated polymer. The multilayer material is useful for making a pipe which has a superior barrier properties to petroleum products and the additives thereof. The present invention also relates to a pipe having a multilayer structure having two layers of polyamide and a layer of binder comprising a polymer A with glutarimide moieties (1)-(4) in between. The pipe has superior barrier properties to petroleum products and the additives.

  • Patent number: 5939492
Abstract: This invention provides an adhesion binder for binding fluorinated polymers, for example, PVDF, with incompatible polymers such as polyamides. The binder is a polymer A which has glutarimide, acid, anhydric and acrylate units, and is useful for the production of fuel hoses. When mixed with a fluorinated polymer such as PVDF, copolymer A acts both as a binder and as a barrier.

    Filed: May 11, 1998
Date of Patent: August 17, 1999
