  • Patent number: 6966969
Abstract: A rotary sonotrode enabling welding to be carried out continuously over a large width. A sonotrode (S) more particularly of revolution, made of a first material for propagation of ultrasonic waves, more particularly metal, comprising a axial bar (2) and an active part (4) connected to the axial part (2), the bar extending uninterruptedly over the entire axial extent of the sonotrode, and a chamber (8), made of a second material which does not allow the transmission of ultrasonic waves from the first material to the second, the second material being more particularly air or avoid, is interposed between the bar (2) and the active part (4).

  • Patent number: 6291039
Abstract: A ruffling slide for making articles with stretchable portions includes a tubular sleeve for containing at least one resiliently elastic yarn element connecting the portions transversely provided on the sleeve and space apart in such a way that they define tubular ruffling sections. The connecting portions also form narrowed portions for locally clamping the elastic yarn elements. The yarn element inserts into the sleeve and is clamped at the narrowed portions in such a way that it extends freely through each tubular section and is movable therein between two positions, i.e., an inoperative position and an operative position in which said element is shorter than the section in question, whereby it may subsequently impart a ruffle thereto in a direction substantially perpendicular to the general direction of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5665196
Abstract: A welding and cutting counter head for joining and cutting sheeted materials comprising a welding counter-wheel rotatably supported on a shaft which is supported on a slide for movement towards and away from a location where the materials are joined, a cutting disk adjacent the counter-wheel and mounted for rotation with the counter-wheel, means for mounting the cutting disk for floating radial motion relative to the counter-wheel, and a resilient biasing means for biasing the cutting disk in a direction towards the materials joining location.
