  • Patent number: 11970560
Abstract: The invention generally relates to linear-bottlebrush-linear copolymer blocks and methods of making and using same. The disclosed copolymer blocks can be useful in, for example, the formation of polymer networks that replicate biological stress-strain behavior. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present invention.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 3, 2018
Date of Patent: April 30, 2024
Assignee: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
    Inventors: Sergei Sheiko, Mohammad Vatankhah-Varnosfaderani
  • Publication number: 20220370679
Abstract: Materials and methods related to elastomers are disclosed. The disclosed elastomers are useful in implants mimicking soft tissue. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present invention.

  • Patent number: 10640649
Abstract: The invention generally relates to compositions comprising polymer bottle brush and comb networks and methods of making polymer networks. Specifically, the disclosed polymer networks are prepared by polymerizing a siloxane monomer in the presence of a crosslinker. Alternatively, the disclosed polymer networks can be prepared by polymerizing a siloxane monomer in the presence of a radical initiator. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present invention.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 22, 2016
Date of Patent: May 5, 2020
Assignee: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Inventors: Sergei Sheiko, Mohammad Vatankhah Varnoosfaderani, Will Daniel
  • Publication number: 20180282609
Abstract: Capsules contain titanium chloride within an interior of the capsule, which are configured as hydrochloric acid generators upon exposure to a medium contained within an environment at the subterranean location, such as water molecules. The capsules may be configured to be inert in the ambient atmosphere, and are only activated in the presence of water to generate hydrochloric acid inside the capsules followed by a release of the acid to the surrounding environment. Such capsules can be delivered to a subterranean location for removal of filter cake or scale.

  • Publication number: 20180045843
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to expandable microcapsules and their utilization for acoustic imaging within a geological formation. The present disclosure further relates to expandable microcapsules with a multicomponent core and disclosure to practical utilization of multicomponent cores for controlling the expansion properties (e.g., temperature and pressure of expansion, expansion volume ratio, and shell thickness) of the resulting microbubbles.
