  • Patent number: 11100807
Abstract: A method for transmitting pieces of information between vehicles of a vehicle platoon during a lane change for circumventing an obstacle. A first vehicle of the vehicle platoon checks, in response to an identification of the obstacle, whether an evasive maneuver of the first vehicle into an alternative lane is possible. If the check yields that the evasive maneuver of the first vehicle is not possible, an assistance request is output to a communication interface for communication with at least one second vehicle of the vehicle platoon to prompt the second vehicle to conduct an evasive maneuver into the alternative lane.

  • Patent number: 10854089
Abstract: A method for forming and coordinating a group of autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicles includes a potential platoon vehicle transmitting a coupling inquiry for coupling to a vehicle present in its surroundings to form or modify a vehicle group, establishing or ascertaining a platoon coordination vehicle, which checks whether a conflict exists, and, after the conflict has been resolved or in the absence of the conflict, forming or modifying the group of vehicles.

    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
    Inventors: Hauke Wendt, Sergey Chirkov
  • Patent number: 10689006
Abstract: A monitoring system for monitoring the control system of an autonomous vehicle is developed independently of the control system of the autonomous vehicle and is set up to monitor the functions of the control system in order to detect malfunctions of the control system and to report a detected malfunction of the control system to an external monitoring station.

  • Patent number: 10438492
Abstract: A method for evaluating a hazardous situation acquired by at least one sensor of a vehicle includes reading in an item of hazard information representing the hazardous situation, an item of sensor information representing at least one property of the sensor, and a signal quality of a sensor signal provided by the sensor during acquisition of the hazardous situation; determining a sensor quality of the sensor using the item of sensor information and the signal quality; and determining a plausibility of the hazardous situation using the item of hazard information and the sensor quality in order to obtain a plausibility signal representing the plausibility of the hazardous situation.

  • Publication number: 20190164420
Abstract: A method for coordinating at least one distance between at least two autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicles in a group of vehicles, at least one on-ramp and/or exit ramp of a road traveled by the vehicles in an area ahead of the group of vehicles being registered, a situation-dependent optimal distance for passing the on-ramp and/or exit ramp between the vehicles being ascertained, a distance between the vehicles being adapted to the situation-dependent optimal distance between the vehicles before the on-ramp and/or the exit ramp is reached, the on-ramp and/or the exit ramp being passed with the ascertained situation-dependent optimal distance between the vehicles, a situation-dependent optimal distance between the vehicles being re-ascertained after having passed the on-ramp and/or exit ramp, and the distance between the vehicles being adapted to the re-ascertained situation-dependent optimal distance between the vehicles after having passed the on-ramp and/or exit ramp.
