  • Patent number: 11317415
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) or network device such as a Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) node, or V2X device operates to configure sidelink signals with another vehicle or node with resources that can be used for ranging and sidelink communications within a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network or a New Radio (NR) network. The UE/device generate or process a broadcast communication of the sidelink signal via an adaptive antenna array or a directional antenna array and forming a directional radiation pattern from a beam sweeping operation based on geo-location information determined based on a sidelink signal. Depending on the geo-location information coordinates or the position of other vehicles or nodes can be derived to select or configure resources for a sidelink communication, including a Sidelink Ranging Reference Signal (SR-RS) and associated sidelink communication data.

  • Publication number: 20210203449
Abstract: Provided herein are mechanisms on response of pre-allocated resource based PUSCH transmission. The disclosure provides an apparatus including processor circuitry. The processor circuitry is to: encode data, for transmission to an access node (AN) over a pre-allocated uplink (UL) resource (PUR) based physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH); start a timer once the data is transmitted; and monitor, based on the timer, a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) to obtain a response of the AN to the transmission of the data. Other embodiments may also be disclosed and claimed.

  • Patent number: 10880897
Abstract: Technology for an apparatus of a user equipment (UE) configured to select spectrum resources in a vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communication system is disclosed. It relies on the established mechanisms for device-todevice, D2D direct mode communication well-known in the context of Proximity Services in a 3GPP LTE communications system. The UE can calculate a received energy in a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) over a sensing period for a portion of one or more sub-channels over selected subframes in a resource pool, by means of measurements of Received Signal Strength Indication, RSSI, of other D2D sidelink channel communications. The UE can identify the one or more sub-channels over the selected subframes that has a measured energy level greater than a threshold value to determine a channel congestion fraction (CCF) comprising a fraction of the resources that exceed the threshold value, reflecting a resource utilization.

  • Patent number: 10708908
Abstract: Increasing a number of orthogonal time-domain transmission opportunities in a Proximity Services (ProSe) traffic generation period can reduce over-air congestion and collision in long term evolution (LTE) communications. Resource configurations can be adjusted, including providing a new physical layer numerology, reducing transmission time (TTI) interval duration, providing a smaller sidelink control information period, configuring logical sidelink control periods and/or multiplexing of control and data transmissions.
