Where the network name is not resolved into a network address of the first protocol type by the first DNS server, a second DNS server of a second protocol type is requested to resolve the network name into a network address of the second protocol type. Where the first DNS server or the second DNS server resolves the network name into a network address, the network address into which the network name has been resolved is returned for access of a network resource at the network address and identified by the network name.

Stateless network configuration for the computing device is performance in accordance with a protocol. Stateful network configuration for the computing device is performed in accordance with a policy for the protocol and in accordance with one or more managed configuration flags for the stateful network configuration. The policy for the protocol at least partially conflicts with the managed configuration flags for the stateful network configuration.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for seeding a random number generator, comprising retrieving a first data block from a memory; initially seeding the random number generator using the first data block as a seed; retrieving a number generated by the random number generator; mapping the number to a memory address in the memory using a mathematical function; retrieving a successive data block from the memory address; and successively seeding the random number generator with a combination of the seed and the successive data block such that the combination of the seed and the successive data block becomes a resulting seed.
