  • Publication number: 20100150457
Abstract: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer program product for generating video based cohorts. Digital video data is processed to identify a set of color and texture based attributes associated with the set of objects. The digital video data comprises metadata describing the set of objects. The set of color and texture based attributes are analyzed using cohort criteria to form a result. The cohort criteria specify attributes that are associated with members of a given cohort. A set of cohorts is generated based on the result. Each cohort in the set of cohorts comprises a subset of objects from the set of objects that share at least one color and texture based attribute in common.

  • Publication number: 20100150458
Abstract: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer program product for generating video based cohorts. Digital video data is processed to identify a set of size and shape based attributes associated with the set of objects. The digital video data comprises metadata describing the set of objects. A size and shape attribute comprises an attribute describing a shape associated with a portion of an object or a size measurement of the portion of the object. The set of size and shape based attributes are analyzed using cohort criteria to form a result. The cohort criteria specify attributes that are associated with members of a given cohort. A set of cohorts is generated based on the result. Each cohort in the set of cohorts comprises a subset of objects from the set of objects that share at least one size and shape based attribute in common.

  • Publication number: 20100030685
Abstract: Under the present invention a transaction is processed and analyzed for potential fraud or error. Specifically, a description of a (proposed) transaction is accessed. Among other things, the description contains an expected set of events (e.g., derived from historical data). As the transaction is being performed a set of multimedia devices will record the same. The multimedia signal(s) from the set of devices will be analyzed to determine what event(s) actually took place. The actual event(s) will be compared to the expected event(s) to determine if any deviation/difference exists. If there is a difference, and it is beyond a predetermined tolerance, a notification can be generated. Regardless, a log of the activities will be kept.

  • Publication number: 20080232641
Abstract: The present invention relates to the measurement of human activities through video, particularly in retail environments. A method for measuring retail display effectiveness in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes: detecting a moving object in a field of view of an imaging device, the imaging device obtaining image data of a product display; tracking the object in the field of view of the imaging device to obtain a track; and obtaining statistics for the track with regard to the product display.

  • Publication number: 20060158616
Abstract: Techniques are provided for interacting with a subject in an environment are provided. In one aspect, an inventive apparatus includes a display device configured to display images on a number of surfaces in the environment, at least one sensing device, and at least one display controller. The at least one sensing device is configured to sense interactions between the subject and the environment. At least some of the interactions can be interactions dispersed through the environment and remote from the displayed image. The display controller can be coupled to the display device and the sensing device, and can be configured to modify image display by the display device, in response to one or more of the interactions that are sensed.
