Abstract: A method for signalling of data transmission path properties is proposed. The method contains several steps at a first network endpoint device. As a first step, at least one data transmission path is provided via a client-server interface to a client device by the first network endpoint device. The data transmission path is a path through the network connecting the first network endpoint device and a second network endpoint device. As a second step, the first network endpoint device receives via a server-network interface OAM information generated by the second network endpoint device or internal network devices and terminates this received OAM information. As a third step, the first network endpoint device determines at least one data transmission property parameter from such received OAM information which was generated by the second network endpoint device or internal network devices.
