  • Patent number: 5871695
Abstract: A gelatinous reagent containing chloride ions, aliphatic alcohol, Fe.sup.3+ and trace amounts of selected agents is useful for detecting the pathologies of atherogenic metabolism and bilirubinemia by observation of a color change when the reagent is brought into contact with a body fluid. The reagent can be carried on a diagnostic strip or can be used for spectrometric analysis in liquid form. The reagent can be used with a second reagent containing oxammonium sulfate to identify the pathologies by measurement of the electropotential generated when a body fluid is brought into contact with both of the reagents.

  • Patent number: 5858796
Abstract: Reagent and method are offered for the screening of the functional condition of the body by the person's saliva. Reagent presents itself as an H2O solution, containing ions of Fe3+, chloride ions and multi-atom alcohol .n the concentrations 0.05-3.0M; 0.05-4.0M, and 0.1-5.0M accordingly. Screening is conducted by means of mixing of the persons saliva with the reagent in the following comparison of colour mix with control; during this an orange colour is correlated with the norm; yellow-diabetes SD-1, functional disorders of pancreas; bright-pink and red initial stages of hypertonic disease, diabetes SD-2, pathological influence of smoking; dark-red, developed forms of hypertension, diabetes SD-2, pathogenic-influence of smoking or other toxic substances, leading to the emphasized energetic disorder.

  • Patent number: 5464608
Abstract: The composition presents itself in the form of rapidly dissolving water soluble tablets, which contain multivitamins, sodium percarbonate, sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, various food flavors and food dyes. These components are mixed in such percentage and weight proportions, that when placed in contact with human saliva, a pH of 5.4-5.6 is created within the oral cavity. A concurrent excretion of carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) and oxygen (O) occurs. Both of these reactions enhance the desired effect, of cleaning both soft and hard tartar from the teeth, while at the same time diminishing not only the amount of pathogenic microflora, but also the inflammatory processes in the gum and mucus membrane. The end result is a significant prophylaxis of caries, achieved without any harm being done to the enamel of the teeth. The novel effect of the invention becomes apparent in that the offered composition can be utilized in either of two forms.

  • Patent number: 5403749
Abstract: Reagent is offered for the determining of the ethanol and method of determining the presence of ethanol in the human body by the method of processing of the biological material by the reagent, composed from the component 1, presenting itself as 0.06-0.36M of solution of sodium dichromate in water, and componet 2--concentrated sulphuric acid; during this biological material is added to the component 1, in the type of preferable saliva, soon after, component 2 is added with proportionate number of the components in volume 0.02-0.12:1:0.25-0.9. Mix and incubate in the period of 1.5-3 min. and determine the presence and quantity of the contained ethanol by the changing of the color carrier, saturated with liquid 3-10% solution of sodium nitroprissidi, 1-5% water solution of gelatine and 10-30% solution of morpholine in water, containing 1-20% multi-atom alcohol, under the effect of developing vapors, during the oxidation of the biological material.
