  • Publication number: 20230124847
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating audible pronunciation of a closed captioning word in a content item. For example, a system generates for output on a first device a content item comprising dialogue. The system generates for display on the first device a closed captioning word corresponding to the dialogue where the closed captioning word is selectable via a user interface of the first device. The system receives a selection of the closed captioning word via the user interface of the first device. In response to receiving the selection of the closed captioning word, the system generates for playback on the first device at least a portion of the dialogue corresponding to the selected closed captioning word.

  • Publication number: 20230091437
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for selectively providing data to service providers. Wireless signal characteristics may be transmitted over a wireless network by network equipment in a household, and a map of the household may be generated based on the determined wireless signal characteristics. An API request may be received from a service provider, and an authorization level of the service provider may be determined. Based on the authorization level of the service provider, at least one portion of the map and at least one of the wireless signal characteristics to transmit to the service provider may be identified, and the identified at least one portion of the map and at least one of the wireless signal characteristics may be transmitted to the service provider via the API.

  • Publication number: 20230087963
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for controlling media content based on user presence information. A user interaction with playing of a first media asset generated for presentation at a consumption device may be identified, and in response, historical wireless signal characteristics of a wireless network, over which wireless signals are used to generate for display the first media asset, may be determined. While a second media asset is generated for display, the second media asset at the consumption device may be modified based on user presence information determined by comparing current wireless signal characteristics of the wireless network to the historical wireless signal characteristics of the wireless network.

  • Patent number: 11606606
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting and analyzing audio in a media presentation environment to determine whether to replay missed portions of media content are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, one or more computing devices detect audio in a media presentation environment. The one or more computing devices determine whether the audio relates to the media being presented. If the audio does not relate to the media being presented, the one or more computing devices cause replaying a portion of the media presentation corresponding to when the audio was being detected.

  • Publication number: 20220225065
Abstract: A device may include a processor configured to determine latency budgets for particular microservices for an application associated with a user equipment (UE) device, wherein the microservices are deployed in a cloud computing center. The processor may be further configured to determine that a measured latency for a particular microservice has exceeded a latency budget for the particular microservice by at least a latency budget threshold; deploy the particular microservice on a Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) network associated with a base station servicing the UE device, based on determining that the measured latency for the particular microservice has exceeded the latency budget for the particular microservice by at least the latency budget threshold; and send a recommendation to the UE device to use the particular microservice deployed at the MEC network.

  • Publication number: 20220191257
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for improving interactions with and between computers in content providing, streaming and/or hosting systems supported by or configured with devices, servers and/or platforms. The disclosed systems and methods provide a novel conference framework that automatically determines and prioritizes speaker allocation within a conference in order to remedy and/or avoid conflicts between speakers so that a clear and decisive dialog can occur. The disclosed conference framework balances a determined weighting factor and queue management ranking of the conference to provide a prioritized speaker queue that enables all participants to speak without conflict or interruption. The disclosed systems and methods enable a prioritized, conflict-resolution based conferencing environment where orderly conferencing can occur while maintaining each participants rights to participate accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20190204108
Abstract: The disclosure pertains to methods and apparatus for improved navigation notification based on localized traffic flow. A navigation system may comprise a transmitter, a receiver, and a processor, coupled to the transmitter and the receiver. The processor may be configured to determine a current lane position of the first vehicle, determine a target lane position for the first vehicle as a function of a navigation event point, determine a distance to the navigation event point, determine an alert time based on an estimate of traffic density, and provide an alert associated with the target lane position at the alert time. The estimate of traffic density may be based on traffic conditions in lanes between the current lane position and the target lane position and the distance to the navigation event point.

  • Patent number: 9641567
Abstract: A communication system extends IETF Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) signaling used by IMS architecture. As a basic use case, initially a first (UE1) (controller) is in a media session (e.g., audio, video and message session) with a remote UE. To transfer provider of one media component to a controllee UE, the controller UE1 sends a REFER message with a relevant body to trigger the media session operations to a Service Centralization and Continuity Application Server (SCC AS). The SCC AS is able to interpret the contents of the REFER message to perform the media session manipulation on one or multiple UEs (originating UE itself or other UEs). The innovation provides for a REFER message that convey what needs to be done in a separate SIP header carrying target dialog and media line number(s), in a SDP body that REFER carries, or XML body that will be in REFER.

  • Publication number: 20170104562
Abstract: A communication network's bandwidth may be managed using bandwidth management (“BWM”) and/or bandwidth aggregation (“BWA”) techniques. For example, packets of traffic may be inspected to identify a video stream and/or video sub-streams. The video sub-streams may be partitioned for transmission. For example, the video sub-streams may be partitioned based on a characteristic and/or policies associated therewith. One or more radio access technologies (“RATs”) may be selected for transmitting the video sub-streams. The one or more RATs may be selected according to one or more policies for managing the bandwidth associated with the video. The video sub-streams may be transmitted via a single RAT or a plurality of aggregated RATs.

  • Patent number: 9049100
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for forwarding content delivery network interconnection (CDNI) signaling. A CDNI router content delivery network (CDN) may establish CDNIs with upstream and downstream CDNs. The CDNI router CDN may receive a CDNI route advertisement message from at least one of the upstream and downstream CDNs. The CDNI router CDN may update at least one end-user-based CDNI routing table based on Internet protocol (IP) address blocks in the CDNI route advertisement message. The CDNI router CDN may transmit an updated CDNI route advertisement message to at least one of the upstream and downstream CDNs. At least one of the upstream and downstream CDNs may update at least one end-user-based CDNI routing table based on the end user IP address blocks in the updated CDNI route advertisement message.

  • Publication number: 20150032846
Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are provided to implement management of a mobile network computing resources (MNCRs) in, e.g., a core network entity of a mobile network. The core network (CN) entity may detect a condition related to the MNCR. The condition may be indicative of, for example, an overload of a computing resource in the CN entity of the mobile network. Based on the detected condition, the CN entity may generate a cloud computing resource (CCR) request. The CN entity may transmit the CCR request. The CN entity may generate a provisioning request. The CN entity may redirect a service request to the CCR. The CN entity may transfer one or more sessions to the CCR. If a condition detected at the CN entity is a security threat, the CN entity may transfer the sessions to a CCR.
