Abstract: A method for managing contact information including telephone numbers over a telephone network is described. When initiated by an authorized user during a connection to another party, the method announces an appropriate recorded message via a telephone network to prompt the party to enter a telephone number. The method stores the telephone number in an assigned portion of a database to which the authorized user have access via the telephone network, and retrieves and deletes the telephone number at a request submitted by the authorized user via the telephone network.
