Patent number: 10232259Abstract: An apparatus, method and computer-readable storage medium for efficiently collecting doobers. A game area may be presented in a graphical user interface on a display device. The game area may include a game character associated with a first player, regions and objects within the regions. The character may move within the regions and interact with the objects. One or more doobers may be presented in the game area, and the doober(s) may be identified as collected by the first player in response to one or more inputs to the graphical user interface by the first player. The doober(s) may be marked as collected if an input is within a particular distance from the doober(s).Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2017Date of Patent: March 19, 2019Assignee: Zynga Inc.Inventor: Seth John Sivak

Patent number: 9962612Abstract: An apparatus, method and computer-readable storage medium for guiding a player to the completion of a task during game play. The player selects a control device in a graphical user interface device generated by a processor. In response to the selection, a hint is provided to the user in the graphical user interface that presents a game board to a player. The player may use the hint to accomplish the task.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2016Date of Patent: May 8, 2018Assignee: Zynga Inc.Inventors: Fareed Behmaram-Mosavat, Seth John Sivak, William Lazzaro

Publication number: 20170368454Abstract: Systems, methods and media for controlling online video games are disclosed. For example, a controller system can receive first data associated with a game played at a player platform. Second data can be generated based on the first data, where the second data enables a viewer platform to provide a game participation feature(s) associated with the game. The second data can be transmitted from the controller system to the viewer platform. Third data based on the second data can be received at the controller system, where the third data is based on an interaction of a viewer with the game participation feature(s). Fourth data can be generated based on the third data, where the fourth data enables the player platform to alter the game based on the interaction of the viewer with the game participation feature(s). The fourth data can be transmitted from the controller system to the player platform.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 21, 2017Publication date: December 28, 2017Inventors: Seth John SIVAK, Jesse David KURLANCHEEK, Damon Brian IANNUZZELLI, William Daniel OGLES, Matthew Devon RILEY, Luke PETRE, Joel Frederick MUKAI

Patent number: 9623323Abstract: Individual participants in a multi-participant collaborative computing application may be sent intermittent updates of actions taken by other participants. These updates need not be sent to a participant's device until the participant has interacted with a specified object in the application. The participant's device may then be sent an update including object interactions of the other participants occurring since the participant's previous object interaction. The update may be used to periodically inform the participant of the actions taken by the other participants during the period between the participant's interactions.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 2014Date of Patent: April 18, 2017Assignee: Zynga Inc.Inventors: Fareed Bhemaram-Mosavat, Jesse David Kurlancheek, William Daniel Ogles, Craig Anderson Lancaster, Seth John Sivak, Daniel O'Brien

Patent number: 9050530Abstract: An apparatus, method and computer-readable storage medium for efficiently collecting doobers. A game window may be presented in a graphical user interface on a display device. The game window may include a game character associated with a first player, regions and objects within the regions. The character may move within the regions and interact with the objects. One or more doobers may be presented in the game window, and the doober(s) may be marked as collected by the first player in response to one or more inputs to the graphical user interface by the first player. The doober(s) may be marked as collected if an input moves a cursor within a particular distance from the doober(s).Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2012Date of Patent: June 9, 2015Assignee: Zynga Inc.Inventor: Seth John Sivak

Patent number: 8838263Abstract: The unique advantages of computer-controlled fabrication of a patient-specific orthotic device using an automated fabrication machine capable of following computer instructions to create 3D surface contours and new developments in non-invasive three-dimensional (3D) scanning have made it possible to acquire digital models of freeform surfaces such as the surface anatomy of the human body and to then fabricate such a patient-specific device with high precision. Such a patient-specific device brings significant improvement in patient-specific fit, comfort, and function of medical devices (and, in particular, to orthoses that require a close fit to the wearer's body to act effectively). The combination of these two technologies is ideally suited for the development of patient-specific orthotic devices. A patient specific ankle-foot orthotic device using this technology is disclosed. This exemplary device is used to help stabilize the ankle-foot region, for example, in patients with impaired gait.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 2009Date of Patent: September 16, 2014Assignees: Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Corporation, Northeastern University, Technest Holding, Inc.Inventors: Mark L.
