Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and systems for assessing and diagnosing motor conditions using indices derived from computational analysis of a digitized drawing sample of a spiral. It is an improvement of the invention disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 6,454,706, and adds new indices and depictions thereof. Such indices may be used individually or in combinations amongst themselves or with indices disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 6,454,706 to evaluate and assess motor function. As such, in non-limiting embodiments, the new information may be used in diagnostic techniques relative to an expert generated standard or, alternatively, may be used to monitor a subject's function over time or as a result of treatment, where indices or their combinations are compared between drawing samples obtained from a single subject or a group of subjects. The methods and systems of the invention have application in both the clinical and research communities.
