  • Patent number: 12515284
Abstract: A method of making a blade of a hydroelectric turbine installation includes: providing the blade includes a first part and a second part; machining the first part and the second part so as to form a profile of a first surface and a second surface of the blade; composing the blade by welding the first part to the second part, the welding forming a first weld seam located on the first surface and a second weld seam located on the second surface; and machining the first weld seam and the second weld seam, the first part and the second part being provided by casting, the first part including a first area of the first surface, a first area and a second area of the second surface, and the second part including a second area and a third area of the first surface and a third area of the second surface.

  • Publication number: 20200158073
Abstract: A propeller-type runner for a hydraulic turbine or pump has a hub and a plurality of blades. Up to and including two blades are fixed to the hub using bolts. The remaining blades are welded to the hub. Each bolted blade is adjoined by two welded blades.

  • Patent number: 7908875
Abstract: A monitoring system is provided that is capable of determining when the temperature of at least one point along a refrigeration unit is not within a standard temperature range known for the operation of the refrigeration unit at the at least one point. In particular, the monitoring system is capable of alerting a technician or operator if, after a predetermined amount of time has elapsed after the refrigeration unit is expected to start, the temperature of the at least one point along the refrigeration unit is not within the standard temperature range known for operation of the refrigeration unit when the compressor is running. The predetermined elapsed time may be of a length of time necessary to allow for the refrigeration unit to complete a defrost and/or delog cycle and recover from such cycle. The monitoring of the at least one point along the system may be accomplished by the monitoring of a thermocouple.

  • Publication number: 20100166284
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for generating quantitative imagery of demyelination in the spinal cord. The method includes acquiring a magnetization transfer weighted (MTw) MR image of the spinal column, identifying a reference region of interest within the image corresponding to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), averaging the signal intensity corresponding to the reference region of interest, and computing a ratio, on a voxel-by-voxel basis, of the signal intensity of each voxel by the averaged reference signal intensity. In doing so, normalized MTw images are obtained such that detrimental artifacts such as motion-induced errors, coil loading, and RF coil sensitivity variations are obviated.
