    Abstract: A device and a method are disclosed for heating a die by induction heating. The die is positioned in a rectangular bobbin so that the direction of the center axis of the die is perpendicular to the direction of an alternating magnetic field produced by an induction-heating coil wound on the bobbin. This eliminates substantially the large temperature difference between the central portion and peripheral portion of the die. Additionally the die may be rotated within the bobbin, or yokes may be provided to increase the uniformity of the magnetic flux distribution over the die.
