  • Patent number: 4624477
Abstract: A suspension system for an automobile wherein after having been changed to a "HARD" mode upon commencement of the turning movement, the characteristic of the suspension is not restored to the standard condition until completion of the turning movement is detected so that a stable running performance is obtained irrespective of the status of the curve of a road while good riding comfort at normal running is also maintained.

  • Patent number: 4622126
Abstract: An engine air/fuel ratio sensing device for measuring the oxygen partial pressure or concentration in the exhaust gas of an engine. The device has a sensor and a control circuit coupled to each other. The sensor consists of an electrolyte oxygen pump cell and an electrolyte oxygen sensor cell, both cells having a gap portion therebetween. The oxygen pump cell pumps oxygen into ambient gas when electrically energized. The sensor cell produces an electromotive force when there is an oxygen partial pressure difference thereacross due to the pumping of the pump cell. The control circuit has a differential amplifier which receives as an input the electromotive force for comparison with a predetermined reference voltage. The amplifier continuously provides an output, used for driving a pumping current through the pump cell, until the electromotive force reaches the reference voltage at which an equilibrium condition for the pumping current is established.

  • Patent number: 4609452
Abstract: An engine air/fuel ratio sensing device for measuring the oxygen partial pressure or concentration in the exhaust gas of an engine. The device has a sensor and a control circuit coupled to each other. The sensor consists of an electrolyte oxygen pump cell and an electrolyte oxygen sensor cell, both cells having a gap portion therebetween. The control circuit provides a pumping current through a current limiting resistor to the pump cell and measures two terminal voltages across the current limiting resistor to derive the actual pump current and the internal resistance of the pump cell, the latter being converted into the actual temperature to which the sensor is exposed. The actual pump current and the actual temperature are used to correct the actual pump current to a proper pump current dependent on the temperature, in accordance with a predetermined equation.

  • Patent number: 4594987
Abstract: A fuel injection control apparatus for an internal combustion engine using a hot-wire type air flow sensor wherein, even during a low engine speed and in a fully opened condition of the throttle valve of the engine, the output of the air flow sensor is corrected corresponding to the opening of the throttle valve and the engine speed on the basis on a predetermined relationship therebetween, thereby providing a proper A/F ratio.

  • Patent number: 4492211
Abstract: An electric-type air-to-fuel ratio control system for an internal combustion engine in which the air-to-fuel ratio sucked into the cylinders of the engine is maintained substantially constant following abrupt deceleration. In accordance with the invention, a bypass flow of air is provided into the intake manifold of the engine downstream of the throttle valve and a fuel injection valve using an electrically controlled air supplying device. The air supplying device is opened following closure of the throttle valve to supply an additional flow of air which compensates for overrichness in the air-to-fuel mixture caused by the delay of fuel injected from the fuel injection valve to the cylinders of the engine. Preferably, the time during which air is supplied through the air supplying device and the flow rate of air therethrough is adjusted so as to maintain a predetermined air-to-fuel ratio following deceleration.
