    Abstract: Provided are a method for manufacturing a high yield and high performance mesophase pitch and a high yield and high performance mesophase pitch manufactured therefrom by hydrogenating, mesophase formation, thin film evaporation, solvent-extracting, filtering and then drying to obtain only mesogen components in flow-domained mesophase pitch and then mixing the mesogen components with an isotropic pitch as a solvent component. Further, the high yield mesophase pitch of the present disclosure exhibits high spinnability while maintaining whole anisotropy and exhibits a much higher production yield than existing mesophase pitches.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of preparing an anisotropic pitch for carbon fiber, and more particularly, to a method of preparing an anisotropic pitch of preparing a pitch having a low softening point by thermally polymerizing heavy oil or residue oil generated in an oil refining process, extracting only a mesogen component, and then heat-treating at a high temperature for a short time. The anisotropic pitch prepared in the present disclosure has advantages of exhibiting the anisotropic content of 100% and controlling the anisotropic content only a simple temperature control as desired and may be used as a precursor of a high value-added carbon material such as carbon fiber and an anode material for a lithium secondary battery.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing an impregnated pitch from a petroleum-based raw material and to an impregnated pitch produced using the same, and when the method for producing an impregnated pitch according to the present invention is used, it is possible to produce an impregnated pitch having a high carbonization yield (40 wt % or more) and low quinoline insoluble matter (QI, 2% or less) for improving efficiency of an impregnation process from a petroleum-based raw material. Therefore, when an impregnation process is applied to a carbon compact by using the impregnated pitch according to the present invention, it is possible to remarkably reduce micropores inside the carbon compact, and to produce a carbon compact having physical properties such as excellent electrical conductivity and mechanical strength.
