In a method of executing an application, information for executing the application is received from a device when accessing of the device is sensed, and the application is executed based on the received information. Accordingly, when a user merely brings a wireless guest device near to or in contact with an access point or a wired home device, it is possible to allow the wireless guest device to simultaneously automatically set an optimum security environment for a wireless network and execute an application that the user desires.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for sharing secret information between devices in a home network are provided. In the method and apparatus, home network devices receive a password (credential) input by a user and encrypt secret information based on the credential by using keys generated according to a predetermined identity-based encryption (IBE) scheme. Accordingly, it is possible to securely share the secret information between home network devices without any certificate authority or certificate.

Abstract: Provided is a mode-based access control method that includes: making a security mode list which indicates security setting states of devices existing in a home network; setting a specific security mode selected from the modes on the security mode list; and making the devices perform functions thereof in the specific security mode. A method of providing a session key to be used during a session between a host and a device creates the session key based on a seed key stored in a region that is not allowed by the device; and provides the session key to the device. Therefore, a user does not need to distribute information necessary for creating the session key (i.e., a connection context) to a guest device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a otitis media diagnosis system using terahertz electromagnetic waves, which can diagnose otitis media using terahertz electromagnetic waves in a non-invasive manner, and which can accurately diagnose otitis media by acquiring images on the tympanic cavity using terahertz electromagnetic waves with excellent transmittance, and which can quickly and accurately divide exudative otitis media and suppurative otitis media using terahertz electromagnetic waves that are sensitive to moisture, and which is safe to a body using terahertz electromagnetic waves. The otitis media diagnosis system includes a terahertz probe including a generating unit for radiating terahertz electromagnetic waves from the outside of an ear toward a tympanic cavity and a detection unit for detecting the reflected terahertz electromagnetic waves reflected from the tympanic cavity.

Abstract: A universal plug and play (UPnP) network is provided. In the UPnP network, a QoS policy holder of a UPnP QoS architecture manages information on QoS modes that are previously set, and a QoS manager controls QoS devices by importing traffic policies for a predetermined QoS mode from the QoS policy holder. Accordingly, a user can suitably control traffic items in the network only by selecting a desirable QoS mode according to situations.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for synchronizing contents of devices in a home network are provided. The apparatus includes a determination unit which determines whether a first device and a second device support a common synchronization protocol. Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for managing a station by providing an encrypted key to the station in a wireless network under a Wi-Fi Protected Pre-Shared Key (WPA-PSK) environment. In the method, a registrar determines whether a new station is a guest station, based on user input. If the new station is a guest station, the registrar includes a session key (and not a shared key) into an M8 message according to a Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) Simple Config protocol and transmits the M8 message to the station. Accordingly, it is possible to permit a guest station to temporarily access the network without a user's management of information regarding the guest station.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing a security service is provided. The apparatus includes a reception module which receives first data including a first public key and marked with a security ID, the first public key being one of a pair of public keys necessary for providing a security service to a home server and the security ID indicating that the first data needs to be encrypted; a response generation module which generates second data by encrypting part of a response message for the first data; and a transmission module which transmits the second data to a home server in a home network.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for transmitting a message to a plurality of wireless devices that are classified into units of groups are provided. The method includes operations of: (a) determining whether the message is a predetermined message for detecting a device in a network; (b) encrypting the message with one of a plurality of keys respectively corresponding to a plurality of groups according to a determination result obtained in operation (a), each group comprising one or more devices in the network; and (c) transmitting the encrypted message. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent a guest wireless device that is unknown to a user from detecting a home wireless device of the user and controlling the detected home wireless device without authorization from the user.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for preventing duplicate saving of a resource between universal plug and play (UPnP) devices, which provide content directory service during content synchronization, are provided. The method includes receiving a change log including metadata about a changed resource from a UPnP device of a transmitter, determining whether the changed resource is a duplicate based on the received change log, and receiving and saving the changed resource according to a designated saving path based on a result of the determination.

Abstract: A wireless network system and a communication method, where an external network device easily and temporarily logs in and out of the wireless network. A key management device of the wireless network system includes a limited communication unit that receives encryption information from a wireless network device, a storage unit that stores authentication information for authenticating the wireless network device, and a key creating unit that creates an encryption key using the received encryption information to allow the wireless network device to log onto the wireless network. The key creating unit also transmits the created encryption key to the wireless network device.
