  • Publication number: 20130181132
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an intrusion detection apparatus which includes an infrared emission unit for emitting infrared beams and an infrared reception unit for receiving the infrared beams. The infrared emission unit adjusts an emission direction in which the infrared beams are emitted based on information received from the infrared reception unit, and adjusts an optical axis which is formed with the infrared reception unit depending on whether infrared beam values corresponding to the adjusted emission direction fall within the normal range. The infrared reception unit adjusts a detection direction in which the infrared beams are detected based on information received from the infrared emission unit, and adjusts an optical axis which is formed with the infrared emission unit depending on whether infrared beam values corresponding to the adjusted detection direction fall within the normal range. The intrusion into a relevant region is detected using the optical axis.

  • Patent number: 8467327
Abstract: Provided are a communication method and system for sensor network. In reporting event occurrence in a real-time sensor network application, a cycle time is divided into an event announcement period and a data transmission period to provide real-time transmission performance and energy efficiency. Each of the periods is again divided into the number of slots equal to the maximum depth of a network. Respective nodes sequentially operate according to their depths in a routing tree during the event announcement period to receive the signal transmitted from the lower node. To remove sleep delay, a slot next to the signal reception slot becomes a signal transmission slot. A node sensed an event transmits a signal informing event occurrence during its signal transmission slot, and this signal includes only the address of the transmission node. When a signal does not exist in the event announcement period, no traffic occurs in the data transmission period and the upper nodes maintain a sleep state.

  • Publication number: 20110153107
Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for smart energy management by controlling power consumption. Power consumption information is collected from one or more electrical device groups with a smart meter and electrical devices connected through gateways. When the method estimates that the power consumption will be larger than a threshold value, a control command is outputted to a load controller connected through the gateway and power consumption of electrical devices that belong to the electrical device using group is remotely controlled. According to an embodiment of the present invention, an energy company that produces and supplies energy can supply energy depending on a consumer's demand by using current facilities because the present invention can collect remotely energy consumption, analyze energy consumption patterns, and control automatically the energy consumption of electrical devices installed in a customer's area.

  • Publication number: 20100031242
Abstract: A method and apparatus for provisioning a node with executable code is provided herein. Prior to sending out a code request, a node (101) determines a set of nodes that may potentially host the requested code and sends the request to these nodes instead of a blind broadcast. The determination of what nodes have access to the required code is based on a history information of code request of the node, the overhead traffic, and/or application dependencies that are available to the node. The code request is unicast-based and may involve a multi-hop path for both code requests and responses. If this step fails, a broadcast-based approach can be again employed to request the code.

  • Publication number: 20080109536
Abstract: Provided is method of forming a cluster individually by each sensor node over a sensor network, in which each sensor node has cluster information and authority to assign cluster membership and recognizes a sensor node that is not a cluster member in a radius of the cluster in order to include the recognized sensor node in the cluster as a cluster member. The sensor node that becomes a member of the cluster wirelessly receives an application of the cluster in order to be upgraded. Thus, after initial sensor node setting, a cluster can be formed automatically and a program suitable for each cluster can be upgraded without human intervention.
