    Abstract: A positive electrode material for a lithium secondary battery has improved electron conductivity and surface stability because oxidation-treated carbon nanotubes are stably attached to the surface of an active material. According to one embodiment the positive electrode material includes a positive electrode active material core made of a Li—Ni—Co—Mn-M-O-based material (M=transition metal) and an oxidized carbon nanotube coating layer formed on the surface of the positive electrode active material core and including 1% to 3% by weight of oxidation-treated carbon nanotubes (OCNT) relative to 100% by weight of the positive electrode active material core.

    Abstract: Disclosed are a separator for secondary batteries with enhanced stability and a method of manufacturing the separator. The separator can prevent self-discharge which may occur when a porous non-woven fabric material is used for a separator; can perform a shutdown function at a high temperature of 200° C. or less; and can avoid even under harsh conditions of high temperatures, deterioration in stability caused by internal short-circuit of positive and negative electrodes. In particular, the separator for secondary batteries of the present invention includes a porous non-woven fabric material impregnated with a baroplastic polymer powder and pores of the porous non-woven fabric material are filled with the baroplastic polymer powder by pressing an assembly of the secondary battery.

The porous silicon-based carbon composite according to an embodiment comprises silicon particles capable of intercalating and deintercalating lithium, a magnesium compound, and carbon, and satisfies a molar ratio (Mg/Si) of magnesium atoms to silicon atoms present in the composite of 0.02-0.30 and a molar ratio (O/Si) of oxygen atoms to silicon atoms in the composite of 0.40-0.90. Thus, when the porous silicon-based carbon composite is applied to a negative electrode active material, initial efficiency and capacity retention as well as discharge capacity can be enhanced.
