    Abstract: A method and apparatus for calculating multidimensional Fast Fourier Transforms (FFTs) efficiently without transpose data flow and with in-place computations. If higher throughput computations are desired, computations are done in pipelined stages with parallel computing devices. A wide range of trade-offs can be made between the computation speed and the hardware complexity. This is based on an extension of Cooley-Tuckey algorithm to n-dimensional data. A mathematical derivation of the algorithm has been provided. This invention makes it possible to perform n-dimensional FFTs, n>1 without relying on one-dimensional FFT computations as in the prior art.

    Abstract: A passcode authentication system and method are disclosed, wherein color display is used instead of alpha numeric displays. The passcode authentication system according to the current invention includes a LED color display unit to identify the code entered by a user. This provides a feedback to indicate a code selected. A single or plurality of buttons are used to select a sequence of colors, wherein the sequence of colors is converted to a sequence of digital codes. An example of color code set is; Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and White, but the color code size can be changed by removing or adding additional unique colors as necessary. A user can memorize the passcode as a sequence of colors as well as numbers utilizing a simple mapping. This makes the passcode authentication system low cost and allows for a small form factor design since neither keypad nor screen/numeric display devices are required.

    Abstract: A system comprises a set of two devices communicating each other, using near field communication systems (NFC) where one of said devices is connected to a merchant's POS system via wireless network or a cable. The other device is a portable device belongs to a customer. The customer's portable device authorizes transactions and further writing a check. The merchant side device communicates with the customer's portable device and receives customer's check information. The check information is sent to the merchant's POS system where the check can be printed. The check can have a signature using one of the three options; 1) hand writing 2) electronically captured signature from a signature pad, and 3) electronic signature received from the customer's portable device. The customer's check image can be printed for conventional check processing or directly used for the check image based checking systems.

    Abstract: An adaptor for a peripheral device port includes non-volatile memory attached to the port using a port splitter or hub. The non-volatile memory is typically used for storage of peripheral device specific information such as device drivers and users' guide. Said adaptor provides necessary software as well as reference documents without any additional connection. A host computer sees an additional storage device in addition to a target peripheral device. This eliminates the need for CD or DVD devices for software installations or reference documents. Said adaptor can be easily integrated into a target device or cable for simpler usage. Furthermore, the required software such as device driver can be automatically installed using an auto-run program. This gives a greater convenience to the users since the peripheral device virtually ready for use out of the box without manual software installation.

The complexity of the circuit is reduced by elimination of butterfly computation structure and adaptation of transposeless 2-D transform architecture.
