  • Publication number: 20080270632
Abstract: An address management method and a device thereof are provided. The address management method includes checking by a device whether logical addresses are currently being used by external devices; and setting by the device a non-use logical address as a logical address of the device regardless of the type of the device, if the device determines that the non-use logical address exists. Therefore, a device may use all logical addresses regardless of its device type, and may also have a logical address even though all logical addresses corresponding to its device type are currently being used.

  • Publication number: 20060067288
Abstract: An apparatus and method for dynamically managing sub-channels are provided. The apparatus includes a sub-channel control module, a sub-channel monitoring module, and a scheduling module. The sub-channel control module provides first channel status information on the status of a previous sub-channel for streaming data transmission and requests second channel status information on the status of a current sub-channel. The sub-channel monitoring module provides the second channel status information to the sub-channel control module at the request of the sub-channel control module. The scheduling module receives the first channel status information and the second channel status information from the sub-channel control module and re-assigns sub-channels for streaming data transmission.

  • Publication number: 20060050661
Abstract: A method for conducting link adaptation without collision in wireless network, includes setting, by a first device constituting a first wireless network, information regarding the power level required for transmitting data from the first wireless network, a priority level, and a notice of link adaptation in a first frame, sending the set first frame wirelessly, receiving a second frame including a response to the sent first frame from a second device constituting a second wireless network having received the first frame, and sending data at the power level that is detailed in the second frame when transmission of data with the power level is permitted.

  • Publication number: 20050089002
Abstract: Provided is a wireless local area network (LAN) communication method in the Distributed Coordination Function mode. The method includes (a) setting a predetermined back-off according to the characteristic of data transmitted, and (b) transmitting data if a channel is available at the end of the back-off, and updating the back-off using residual back-off when a channel is used during the back-off. The data transmission throughput can be increased by reducing the back-off according to the characteristic of data to be transmitted. An increase in the data transmission throughput is particularly effective in transmitting real-time data.

  • Publication number: 20050089045
Abstract: A method of providing priority-based discriminated services in a wireless LAN environment. More particularly, providing discriminated services while maintaining compatibility with existing 802.11 MAC through a priority index map configured to enable discriminated services. A method of providing priority-based discriminated services in a wireless LAN environment consistent with the present invention includes determining priority ranks for terminals in the wireless LAN environment; and determining backoff times based on the determined priority ranks, and attempting to occupy a channel by sending frames according to the determined backoff times if predetermined channel occupation latency elapses after the transmission of a last frame is completed.
