Abstract: An apparatus and method to select and print emulation by pages. The apparatus includes a storage unit to store an enhanced meta file (EMF) of a whole document and data obtained by measuring the performance of a printer controller; and a controller to select the emulation to be printed based on the complexity of the EMF stored in the storage unit and the data obtained by measuring the performance of the printer controller. When a printer driver produces emulation of print data of a document, emulation to be printed is selected by analyzing the complexity of pages of the document from an EMF stored in a storage unit and the speed of a printer controller calculated from data obtained by measuring the performance of the printer controller, so that users can print the document under the optimum printing speed and printing quality.

Abstract: A printing control apparatus and printing control method thereof are provided. The printing control method includes: storing a Meta file corresponding to an image data, converting the stored Meta file into a print data, if a memory error occurs in the printing apparatus during printing of the converted data, determining whether a printer driver is preset to a raster mode, and if the printer driver is not, changing the printer driver to the raster mode and converting the stored file into another print data, and if the printer driver is preset to the raster mode, lowering a preset resolution of the printer driver before converting the stored Meta file into another print data with the lowered resolution. Lowering the resolution of the print data decreases the print data size such that the memory error due to a shortage of memory capacity can be solved and print speeds can be enhanced.

Abstract: A warmup of an image forming apparatus is controlled with a first sensor for detecting if a cover of the apparatus is being opened or not and a second sensor for detecting if a toner cartridge of the apparatus is moved or not. The control involves the steps of: when the first sensor produces a signal informing the cover is being opened, determining if the toner cartridge is moved in response to the signal; and allowing the image forming apparatus to go through a warmup only when the second sensor produces a signal informing the movement of the toner cartridge.
