Abstract: A method and a system to share an image forming apparatus among a plurality of hosts. The method includes generating a print enable signal to be transmitted to one of the plurality of hosts corresponding to an order of forming communication channels among one or more hosts to enable wireless communication, and performing a print job by enabling the host that receives the print enable signal to transmit print data to the image forming apparatus. Accordingly, the image forming apparatus such as a printer or multi-purpose tray is wirelessly connected to the plurality of hosts to perform print jobs and scanning jobs.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for sending data from a second agent to a first agent in a bus system having a host and at least two agents of the first agent and at least one second agent. The first and second agents are connected by an interrupt signal line externally provided to the bus system, and the second agent sends an interrupt signal to the second agent without the intervention of the host. The first agent having received the interrupt signal directly receives data stored in the second agent.

Abstract: A printing apparatus and method of providing a contents list and automatically printing selected contents. The printing apparatus includes a print part to print contents, and a control part to provide to a client a contents list, and to receive at least one content from a contents-providing server if the client selects the at least one content by referring to the contents list, and to supply the content to the print part. Thus, users do not have to look into and input URLs at which information regarding the at least one content is located. Further, the contents list contains words referring to what information the contents contain, so the users can obtain the information of the contents and more easily select the information which the user wants to print. Furthermore, despite changes of the URLs for the contents, the users do not have to input the changes since the URLs can be automatically updated.

Abstract: A network printer control system having at least one terminal and a network printer communicably connected to the terminal, and a data reception control method thereof. The network printer control system includes a communication module for transmitting and receiving data to and from the respective terminal through a wire or wireless network, and a central operation part. The central operation part controls the communication module to limit reception of packets that satisfy a specified condition among data packets provided from the respective terminal to the network printer during a printing job of the network printer according to a request from the terminal. The network printer at limits the reception of a broadcast packet and a multicast packet that are not directly related to the print job of the network printer.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for controlling the interface between clients and printers for the printing of data are provided. The method comprises setting interface paths so that network ports connecting each of a plurality of clients to the printer server correspond to printer ports for connecting each of a plurality of printers to the printer server; searching an interface path for data received from a client among the clients from the set interface paths to be printed. The data is transmitted to a printer among the printers via the searched interface path.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for interfacing wired data and wireless data are provided. The method of interfacing wired data and wireless data includes determining whether connection to both the wired network and the wireless network is required for interfacing the wired data and the wireless data. If it is determined that connection to both the wired network and the wireless network is required, the network electronic device operates in a wired/wireless network mode for interfacing both the wired data and the wireless data, and interfaces the wired data and the wireless data, preferably using the same MAC and IP address for both the wired data interface and the wireless data interface.

Therefore, the wireless communication operating mode is automatically set according to whether the wired communication network has been linked to the wired communication module, thereby increasing a user's convenience.

Abstract: A wireless network printer that can access a cable LAN and has an access point function. The wireless network printer includes a wireless LAN card that receives predetermined data from a wireless LAN card of a first wireless client and transmits the data to a cable client connected to a cable LAN or a wireless LAN card of a second wireless client, and a printer processor that receives the data output from the wireless LAN card having the access point function. The wireless network printer provides an access point function in a wireless LAN and allows wire/wireless network printing.

The apparatus determines whether the user's data transceiving with the data processor in a packet is authenticated and/or authorized, using the packet received from the user. The data provided from an authenticated and/or authorized user is transmitted to the data processor or the data provided from the data processor is transmitted to the authenticated and/or authorized user, if it is determined that the user's transceiving of data with the data processor is authenticated and/or authorized. Therefore, an authenticated and/or authorized external user can use a corresponding data processor or remotely check a state (e.g., a trouble state) of the data processor in advance or in real-time without setting specific software in the interface apparatus. Further, unnecessary advertising pamphlets and leaflets can be prevented from being printed by the external user.

Abstract: A facsimile device includes a device capable of transferring and receiving a message in a user-to-user signaling manner and an S-type interface card which is connected to an integrated service digital network (ISDN). According to the present invention, the facsimile device transfers and receives messages through a D channel to be used for transferring signals in the user-to-user signaling manner even though the facsimile device communicates with another facsimile device through B channels of the ISDN to transfer and receive data. Accordingly, channels provided to the facsimile device can be efficiently used.

Abstract: An Internet facsimile machine provides a voice mail function of transmitting or receiving voice mail together with a document or voice mail only using an electronic mail transmitting and receiving method and includes a scanner to scan a document to be transmitted, a voice signal processing unit to convert a voice message to be transmitted into digital voice data, a signal conversion unit to convert the scanned document data and/or the digitized voice message to be suitable for an electronic mail transfer standard, and a signal transmission unit to transmit the converted document and/or the converted voice message through the Internet. Accordingly, voice data in addition to a document or image data can be transmitted or received by an Internet facsimile machine or a PC connected to the Internet facsimile machine, thereby offering convenience to users.

Abstract: A multifunctional apparatus transfers and receives facsimile data and communication data by using an integrated service digital network constructed with a computer interface conducting facsimile and communication data; a line interface transferring data to the network and receiving facsimile and communication data from the network at the first transfer rate; an ISAC controlling a connection with the integrated service digital network, conducting facsimile and communication data via the network, converting the transfer rate of data received from the network to a second transfer rate, and converting the transfer rate of data received from for the network to the first transfer rate. A serial I/O converts the communication data transmitted from the computer through the computer interfacing section, and facsimile data scanned in a scanning section, into serial data, and transfers serial data to the ISAC, and receives communication and facsimile data from the network via the ISAC.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for indicating a call charge on a display of a facsimile device determines whether a message which is included in a D-channel of service information is a facility message or a display message. If the message is a facility message, the call charge is calculated by multiplying the number of calls included in the facility message by a call rate, and the call charge is outputted to a display window and/or a printer. If the message is a display message, the call charge included in the display message is detected, and the call charge is outputted to the display window and/or the printer. Accordingly, a user can identify the call charge easily and conveniently.
