Abstract: An example error handling method includes detecting an error in an image forming apparatus, transmitting error information regarding the detected error to an external apparatus, identifying an error category based on the error information, providing a solution corresponding to the error information to the image forming apparatus based on the identified error category, transmitting result information obtained by applying the provided solution to the external apparatus, and updating the provided solution based on the result information.

Abstract: A communication method of a mobile terminal for reliably performing call redirection between heterogeneous or homogeneous mobile communication systems is provided. The communication method includes requesting a first base station of a first mobile communication system to establish a call connection, receiving information about a first frequency of an adjacent base station for call redirection from the first base station in response to the call connection request, searching for one or more frequencies for the call redirection using the information about the first frequency and information about a second frequency of at least one second mobile communication system, selecting a frequency for the call redirection from among the searched frequencies, and sending a call connection request to a second base station using the selected frequency.

The apparatus includes a pattern management unit configured to analyze movement of a user and ascertain a movement pattern of the user. The apparatus also includes a memory configured to store the movement pattern of the user, which is ascertained by the pattern management unit. The apparatus also includes a controller configured to ascertain information about a destination cell and information about an intermediate cell through which the user passes before moving to the destination cell using the movement pattern of the user and a current movement path of the portable terminal. The apparatus also includes a cell reselection unit for performing a cell reselection process to the destination cell.

Abstract: A method and device to transmit and/or receive fax data in a fax machine or a multifunctional device including a fax function. The method of transmitting the fax data may include transmitting fax data intended to be transmitted to an external device using a user datagram protocol (UDP), receiving a signal requesting that the fax data be re-transmitted from the external device when an error occurs in the transmission of the fax data, and re-transmitting the fax data to the external device in response to the request signal. Accordingly, the fax on a receiving end checks whether a transmission error occurred when data is transmitted from a fax of a transmitting end using a UDP, and, when a transmission error is present, transmits a request signal requesting that the data be re-transmitted to the fax on the transmitting end. At this point, the data is immediately re-transmitted. Therefore, reliability of fax data transmission is increased and the time required for data transmission can be reduced.

Abstract: A facsimile transmission speed setting method, medium, and apparatus. The facsimile transmission speed setting method may include transmitting a DCS signal and a Training Sequence using a transmitting fax unit that receives the DCS signal from a receiving fax unit, checking the Training Sequence at a receiving side of the receiving fax unit, and if there is no transmission error in the received Training Sequence, maintaining a current transmission speed by transmitting a CFR signal to the transmitting fax unit, checking for a transmission error in Training Sequence, and checking whether the transmission error is within a predetermined range. If the transmission error is within the predetermined range the current transmission speed is maintained by transmitting the CFR signal to the transmitting fax unit, and if the transmission error is not within the predetermined range the transmission speed is reduced by transmitting an FTT signal to the transmitting fax unit.
