  • Patent number: 10749580
Abstract: A method and device for adjusting a channel precoding matrix for one or more users operating in a virtualized Massive Multi-Input Multi-Output (M-MIMO) wireless network managed by a neutral host. Each of the users receive wireless services from one or more service providers (SP). For each service provider, a set of N antennas are selected from all available antennas managed by the neutral host. Channel information for each user of each service provider is obtained. A precoding matrix from each SP is defined according to each SP channel and state information. If all channel state information (CSI) parameters are known, and if the CSI parameters are all known, a final precoding matrix based on the known CSI is derived, whereas if only a subset of CSI parameters are known, a final precoding matrix based on the known subset CSI parameters is derived.

  • Patent number: 10440721
Abstract: Mechanisms for determining a cluster set of mobile devices are disclosed. A controller node identifies a primary mobile device that has a scheduled transmission for the controller node at a first time. The controller node identifies, from a plurality of mobile devices, a set of eligible assistant (EA) mobile devices. Each EA mobile device in the set is directed to determine a corresponding mobile device-to-mobile device (MD-MD) channel indicator that identifies a quality of a channel between the each EA mobile device and the primary mobile device. The controller node receives from at least one EA mobile device in the set the corresponding MD-MD channel indicator. The controller node then determines a cluster set that includes the primary mobile device and the at least one EA mobile device.

  • Patent number: 10397308
Abstract: Systems and methods for file transfer by mobile user collaboration are provided. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a first wireless device for uploading a data file as multiple pieces to a destination network node in a wireless communications network includes dividing the data file into the multiple pieces; sending one or more pieces of the multiple pieces to one or more second wireless devices to be uploaded to the destination network node; and uploading one or more pieces via a Coordinated Multi-Point (CoMP) set of cooperating nodes in the wireless communication network. In this way, the first wireless device may be able to upload the data file to the destination network node faster than if the first wireless device uploads the entire date file directly.

  • Publication number: 20180138951
Abstract: A method, in a network node (20, 800) serving K scheduled user equipments (UEs), of selecting a subset of antennas from a plurality of available antennas (815) for use in communicating with the K scheduled UEs (50d) while reducing interference to Kv victim UEs (50v), each of the antennas characterized by a channel vector describing gains between the antenna on the one hand and the scheduled and victim UEs on the other hand. The method includes repeating the following steps until at least K+Kv antennas have been selected: for each antenna of a plurality of unselected antennas of the plurality of antennas, generating a composite matrix of channel gains between selected ones of the antennas including the antenna on one hand and the scheduled and victim UEs on the other hand (204); and selecting one of the plurality of unselected antennas that minimizes a function of antenna gains from the selected ones of the antennas to the scheduled and victim UEs (206).

  • Patent number: 9780842
Abstract: Idle mobile devices are used as cooperating devices to support coordinated multipoint transmission and reception for uplink and downlink communications between a primary mobile device and its serving base station. For uplink communications, the cooperating mobile devices receive the uplink transmission from the primary mobile device and retransmit the received data signal to the serving base station for the primary mobile device. For downlink communications, the cooperating mobile devices receive the downlink transmission from the serving base station and retransmit the received data signal to the primary mobile device.
