  • Patent number: 11330468
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus, and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, related to low power techniques for a BLE device during a scanning state. The BLE device is configured to scan for a preamble of a packet while in a first power mode and detect when a bit of the preamble is received. Upon detecting that the bit of the preamble is received, the BLE device switches from the first power mode to a second power having a higher operating power for the BLE device than the first power mode. The switch in power modes occurs while the preamble is being received or immediately after the preamble is received and before an access address of the packet is received. The BLE device, while in the second power mode, then scans for the access address of the packet.

  • Publication number: 20190273573
Abstract: A device (e.g., a wireless device) may obtain a set of encoded bits, and select a set of symbol locations for puncturing. The device may then obtain and transmit modulated symbols based on the puncturing. For example, the device may encode information bits according to a convolutional code rate. In some cases, the encoded bits may be punctured (e.g., via a puncturing matrix with each column including either all 1's or all 0's) and the set of punctured bits may be mapped to symbols. In other cases, the encoded bits may be mapped to symbols, and the symbols may be punctured (e.g., via a puncturing matrix). The puncturing matrix may be identified based on a desired punctured code rate, the convolutional code rate used to encode the information bits, and whether or not the puncturing is to be applied before or after symbol mapping.

  • Publication number: 20170180171
Abstract: Systems and methods pertain to a receiver configured to receive and detect convolutionally coded Gaussian frequency-shift keying (GFSK) signals comprising a trellis of branches. The receiver implements a Per-Survivor Processing (PSP) algorithm to generate frequency estimate, phase estimate, and branch metric increment for each branch of a trellis. A Viterbi Algorithm is applied to the trellis for Maximum Likelihood Sequence Estimation (MLSE) of information bits. The receiver includes a PSP block comprising a number of blocks equal to the number of branches of the trellis. Each block includes a Phase Corrector, Decision Feedback Demodulator (DFD), and a Frequency Tracking Loop (FTL) to update the PSP variables.

  • Patent number: 9571314
Abstract: A method for wireless communication is described. The method includes receiving a signal that is pattern-mapped and Gaussian frequency-shift keying (GFSK) modulated. The method also includes performing a joint demapping and demodulation of the received signal based on a stored accumulated phase. The method may further include updating the stored accumulated phase based on the joint demapping and demodulation.
