  • Patent number: 4176359
Abstract: A radio frequency antenna adapted to provide independently specifiable sum, azimuth, and elevation antenna patterns is disclosed. The antenna includes a plurality of rows of antenna elements each having a corresponding feed network. Each feed network has three row feed ports and couples energy between such feed ports and the corresponding row of antenna elements with independent amplitude and phase distributions. A second feed network couples energy between sum, azimuth, and elevation ports of the antenna and the three row feed ports of the feed networks with independent amplitudes and phase distribution to provide independent sum, azimuth, and elevation antenna patterns.
