  • Patent number: 5285989
Abstract: A dispensing stand for supporting an industrial drum in a dispensing attitude, the industrial drum having a dispensing device for dispensing selected volumes of contents poured from the industrial drum along a dispensing path to a receptacle placed at a dispensing location beneath the dispensing device, when the industrial drum is in the dispensing attitude, the dispensing stand including a housing, a cradle on the housing for supporting the industrial drum in the dispensing attitude, a reservoir in the housing, a catch basin mounted on the housing for selective movement between a first position wherein the catch basin intercepts the dispensing path for catching contents dripped from the dispensing device along the dispensing path, and a second position wherein the catch basin is clear of the dispensing path for enabling the poured contents to reach the receptacle at the dispensing location, and a drain arrangement between the catch basin and the reservoir for directing the dripped contents from the catch bas

  • Patent number: 5277861
Abstract: Method for selectively rotationally molding an industrial drum in either a closed-head configuration or an open-head configuration within a mold constructed for selective modification to accomplish molding of the drum in either selected configuration by inserting or deleting a separator between a first mold cavity for forming the body of the drum and a further mold cavity for forming the head of the drum, the further mold cavity being selected from alternate second and third mold cavities, such that both the body and the head are rotationally molded simultaneously within the mold during molding of either configuration of the industrial drum.

  • Patent number: 5092251
Abstract: A pallet for supporting liquid-containing industrial drums during storage and transportation and having the ability to collect and contain liquid leaked or otherwise spilled from the supported industrial drums includes a platform for supporting the industrial drums, and a basin beneath the platform for collecting the spilled liquid, the platform and the basin being rotationally molded of a synthetic polymeric material so as to be unitary with one another, the platform having an undulate cross-sectional configuration including a plurality of upper crests and lower troughs between the crests establishing a reinforcing support structure of predetermined area for receiving the industrial drums on the platform, the basin including a reservoir located beneath the platform, and a plurality of holes passing through the platform and communicating with the reservoir, the holes being located in the troughs such that the spilled liquid will drain into the troughs and then through the holes to enter the reservoir for cont

  • Patent number: 4094432
Abstract: An industrial drum constructed of synthetic resin material by rotational molding, the material being a crosslinkable high density polyethylene resin having the ability to crosslink as the drum is molded. The top end wall of the drum carries a bung opening, and an integrally molded chime at the intersection of the top wall and the side wall has a configuration which enables gripping by a mechanized drum-handling apparatus and which includes a drain trough spaced at least a minimal distancefrom the bung opening. In one embodiment, the top end is threaded onto the side wall and a liner of relatively rigid synthetic material is placed in the drum, the liner having an upper lip with a threaded portion for placement interjacent the complementary threads of the top end and the side wall.
