  • Publication number: 20230039827
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer programs are presented for estimating downtime and recovery time after a disaster. One method includes an operation for calculating component fragility functions for components of a facility that are vulnerable to damage after a disaster. Further, the method includes calculating component recovery functions for the components of the facility. The component recovery functions indicate a probability of recovery after a disaster over time. The method further includes operations for calculating a facility fragility function and a facility recovery function based on the component fragility functions and the component recovery functions, and for determining a downtime for the facility for a given intensity associated with the disaster. Further, the method includes an operation for causing presentation of the downtime for the facility on a user interface (UI).

  • Publication number: 20220413181
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer programs are presented for determining flood levels within a region. One method includes an operation for detecting an alert generated by one of a riverine, a coastal, or an urban model. Further, the method includes operations for selecting one or more regions for estimating flood data based on the detected alert, and for calculating, by an inundation model, region flood data for each of the selected regions based on outputs from the riverine model, the coastal model, and the urban model. Additionally, the method includes an operation for combining the region flood data for the selected one or more regions to obtain combined flood data. The combined flood data is presented on a user interface, such as on a flood inundation map.

  • Publication number: 20220344936
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer programs are presented for estimating recovery of a distribution network after a disaster. One method includes an operation for generating a synthetic distribution network based on locations of substations in a geographical area. Further, the method includes operations for estimating damages to the synthetic distribution network based on disaster data, and for performing a simulation to estimate how the synthetic distribution network is repaired. The output of the simulation includes information on a lifeline recovery timeline for each building in the geographical area. Further, the method includes presenting, in a user interface, the recovery timeline for one or more buildings.
