  • Patent number: 9729652
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing user's access to a particular version of an electronic resource (e.g., a website, web resource or the like) where versions of such electronic resources are stored across a set of servers are disclosed. In one embodiment, user's requests may be received—either requesting a particular version or as an unversioned request. A version control module (for example, a load balancer) may receive these requests and assign the user's request to a first server according to different metrics, e.g., regarding version control rules and/or effective load balancing considerations. If the initial server assigned is not able to handle the user's request, the user's request may be proxied to another server, according to different metrics. If there is no server that may handle the user's request (after a certain number of proxied requests), the request may be returned to the user as not handled.

  • Patent number: 9288210
Abstract: Techniques are described to provide revocable object access. In an implementation, a user may provide content and an object (e.g., a picture) to be published with the content. The object is uploaded to a storage location, and a uniform resource locator (URL) that includes a token is generated for the object. The token is registered in an access control list (ACL), and token permission settings in the ACL are utilized to control access to the object. The URL may be embedded in the content. When a viewer requests the content, the object may be retrieved from the storage location using the URL. The user may revoke access to the object by changing the token permission settings in the ACL.

  • Patent number: 8117277
Abstract: An operating system to componentize file sharing is described, in which a file transport send object is executable on the operating system to designate a shared file for sharing, and in which a notification send object is executable on the operating system to notify of the shared file. An operating system to componentize file sharing is described, in which a file transport receive object is executable on the operating system to receive a shared file, and in which a notification receive object that is executable on the operating system to notify of the shared file.

  • Publication number: 20050080807
Abstract: A tool for creating integrated collections. The tool may include a “basket” control that includes interfaces for receiving and displaying the data objects that are selected by a user to be included in a collection, and a collection creation component then provides a collection with one or more data items corresponding to the objects submitted to the basket control. The basket control may be employed by itself to make collections, or it may be hosted by another software object, such as a “listmaker” control that conveniently contains both the basket control and one or more user interfaces that a user can employ to provide data objects to the basket control. The listmaker control may thus include a viewing graphical user interface for viewing data objects and a navigation toolbar for navigating the viewing graphical user interface. The listmaker control may then be hosted as desired in a variety of software applications.
