  • Patent number: 10630624
Abstract: A method, system and/or computer program product predicts viewing activity of a new posting to an activity stream. A first computer transmits a new posting to an activity stream in a second computer, where the new posting is available to a potential viewer set. Based on identified viewer information about one or more members of the potential viewer set, a prediction is made of viewing activity of the new posting by the potential viewer set. This predicted viewing activity is based on identified viewer information about members of the potential viewer set, and describes a predicted likelihood of the potential viewer set viewing the new posting. The derived predicted viewing activity of the new posting by the potential viewer set is then presented at the first computer.

  • Patent number: 10540445
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for intelligently integrating descriptions of images into surrounding text for a screen reader. A natural language understanding image description is determined for an image in a document. For each sentence of a set of sentences in the text of the document, a relatedness score between the sentence and the natural language understanding image description is determined thereby forming a set of relatedness scores. A highest relatedness score is determined from the set of relatedness scores. The natural language image description is inserted in close proximity to a sentence associated with the highest relatedness score, such that, when the text is read out by the screen reader, the natural language image description of the image is read out in close proximity to the sentence.

  • Patent number: 10432561
Abstract: Approaches presented herein enable determining whether to allow a communication to a recipient using a communication device based on one or more classifications of nearby individuals. Specifically, location awareness technology is leveraged to identify individuals near an intended recipient of a communication. Through review and analysis of information related to the individuals gathered from social networking outlets (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) and/or gathered from the recipient's communication device, a classification is assigned to each individual. Based on the classifications, a determination is made as to whether the intended communication mode is to be allowed.
