Abstract: A fire protection asset comprising a machine-readable fire protection asset comprising a machine-readable code or tag disposed thereon, the machine-readable code or tag comprising fire protection asset information comprising a unique identifier for each respective machine-readable fire protection asset is provided. Also provided is a fire protection system comprising a plurality of machine-readable fire protection assets, each asset comprising a machine-readable code or tag disposed thereon and at least one reading device for reading the machine-readable code or tag, the reading device configured to send and/or receive fire protection asset information from and/or to one or more database. The system may further comprise the one or more which may be connected to a network and may be configured to allow entry of additional unique identifiers for additional machine-readable fire protection assets. The entry may be in response to fire protection asset information received from the at least one reading device.

Abstract: A tamper switch, tamper resistant valve and valve monitor are disclosed. The tamper resistant valve comprises a valve housing comprising a valve case and a valve cover, the valve case comprising a base and a wall, the valve cover removable from the valve case and the valve cover defining a housing mechanical linkage or part thereof; and a gear sleeve for fitting onto a main valve drive shaft, the gear comprising a valve mechanical linkage or part thereof for inter-fitting with the housing mechanical linkage or part thereof so the valve cover can only be removed when the valve mechanical linkage or part thereof and the housing mechanical linkage or part thereof are in an access orientation and not a secure orientation.

Abstract: A fire sprinkler shut off tool comprising a body comprising a collar, a casing and a shut off tool hydraulic seal or part thereof to block fluid is disclosed. The collar surrounds a sprinkler or an adaptor, the casing comprises a wall and defines a conduit, the casing also comprises one or more fluid outlet. The shut off tool also comprises a valve movable between an open position to allow fluid to exit from the one or more fluid outlet and a closed position in which fluid is blocked from exiting the one or more fluid outlet and one or more fastener to connect to the sprinkler or adaptor. Also discloses is a method of shutting off a fire sprinkler and a method of manufacturing the fire sprinkler shut off tool.
