Patent number: 11564304Abstract: A dimmer comprising a controller and a wireless adapter coupled to the controller. The dimmer is connected to a LED lamp through a switched AC line. The controller is configured to send to the lamp user control information, and provisioning information for allowing the lamp to distinguish the control information transmitted by the dimmer from control information transmitted by other dimmers in the vicinity of the lamp. For performing the provisioning, the controller is configured, after turning-ON the lamp, to wirelessly transmit thereto, at a provisioning frequency F0, provisioning information comprising an identification of an RF frequency Fn that is preselected as the dimmer-specific frequency for controlling the lamp, and to vary the wireless transmit frequency from F0 to Fn for henceforth sending thereat the control information to the lamp.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2021Date of Patent: January 24, 2023Inventor: Shafrir Romano

Publication number: 20210368595Abstract: Disclosed is a control system for a dimmable LED lamp. The LED lamp comprises a regulated constant current power supply (PS). A dimming control signal D between Dmax and Dmin results in PS output current (Iout) between Imax and Imin respectively, Imin>0, for powering a LED array. For achieving LED current IL lower than Imin, the control system increases D so as to determine Iout as IL+Imin and causes a bleeder unit to load the PS by Imin.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 21, 2020Publication date: November 25, 2021Inventor: Shafrir Romano

Patent number: 10652986Abstract: A method and system for allowing automatic provisioning of a LED lamp in a dimmer system. The dimmer powers the lamp through a switched AC line. A wireless link serves for information exchange between the dimmer and the lamp. When the lamp is turned on by the dimmer, it starts a short waiting period in which it expects to wirelessly receive from the dimmer a provisioning message including a dimmer identification, which it saves to identify dimming messages the dimmer. Another aspect of the invention is disclosed in the above dimmer system, wherein the lamp comprises a backup battery. The dimmer wirelessly informs the lamp upon voltage drops at its input caused by user OFF actions and/or by AC supply outage. The lamp is configured to assume backup mode only upon detecting, based on the above information, a voltage drop at its input caused by an AC supply outage.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2019Date of Patent: May 12, 2020Inventor: Shafrir Romano
