  • Publication number: 20120149346
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for pre-fetching assets from content providers to user equipment (UE). In one embodiment, the UE initiates a pre-fetch operation to download assets from content providers in advance of an end user requesting the assets. The UE accesses a resource profile for the pre-fetch operation that indicates the content providers that have assets for the UE to download in advance for local storage on the UE, and defines a percentage of UE resources allocated to each of the content providers for downloading the assets during the pre-fetch operation. The UE may then download the assets from the content providers based on the resource profile, and store the assets in a local memory.

  • Patent number: 6670472
Abstract: A process for the preparation of 10-methoxycarbamazepine, an important intermediate in the preparation of 10-oxo-10, 11-dihydro-5H-dibenz(b,f)azepine-5-carboxamide(oxcarbazepine) from 10-methoxy-5H-dibenz(b,f)azepine(10-methoxyiminostilbene), is disclosed, which process comprises reacting 10-methoxyiminostilbene with cyanic acid (HOCN) in the presence of a mild acidic reagent in a solvent. Also disclosed is an improved method for the hydrolysis of 10-methoxycarbamazepine to oxcarbazepine, which method comprises carrying out the hydrolysis in a biphasic system chosen such that the oxcarbazepine is substantially insoluble in both phases, whereas the by-products or impurities are soluble in at least one of the phases. The oxcarbazepine thereby prepared is an anticonvulsant, and has been proposed for use as an anti-epileptical agent in the treatment of AIDS-related neural disorders, and for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and/or Parkinsonian syndromes.

  • Patent number: 6418139
Abstract: A system for routing of data traffic on a communications network comprising a plurality of gatekeepers interlinked to form a network wherein the plurality of gatekeepers control bandwidth and routing of data packets towards destination terminals. A plurality of routers aggregate real time flow of data packets through said gatekeepers, and terminals which are connected to the network via the gatekeepers, negotiate connection parameters. Real time flow of said data packets is directed from one end point terminal to another utilizing the gatekeepers and the routers.

  • Patent number: 6292464
Abstract: A system and method for connecting traffic along a communications network is accomplished by rerouting traffic upon the detection of a fault condition along a primary connection path. A laser-diode transmitter, uniquely tagged, transmits a specific bit pattern signature header unique to the transmitter at the beginning of a predetermined transmission sequence. The network recognizes the unique identifier and configures the network to route all traffic from the identified transmitter along a specific path to its intended destination.

  • Patent number: 6172973
Abstract: The instant invention allows control of voice transmission from end user to end user by common channel signaling without the repeated conversion delays encountered by entering and exiting the standard voice network and an ATM network. The control is accomplished in parallel over the standard public switch telephone network while the voice “data” is transported over an ATM “data” network. Each ATM node has with it a co-located PSTN voice switch. A pair of control links are used to communicate between the two co-located ATM and TDM switches.
