  • Publication number: 20200382466
Abstract: The application is directed to an apparatus for allocating address space. The apparatus includes a non-transitory memory operably coupled to a processor configured to perform the step of locating a router on a network. The processor also performs the step of sending a router solicitation message including an address allocation flag to the router to reserve the address space. The processor also performs the step of receiving a router advertisement message based upon the router solicitation message including an address space option. Further, the processor performs the step of saving the address space provided in the router advertisement. The application is also directed to a computer-implemented apparatus for communicating address space between routers. The application is also directed to a computer-implemented apparatus for reallocating assigned IP address space. The application is also directed to an apparatus for registering a node with a router.

  • Publication number: 20180183882
Abstract: Methods and procedures allow devices interwork with various types of service layers by updating the device to support the protocol of the M2M/IoT service layer that is being communicated with. Devices can coordinate/initiate download of a service layer API that is compatible with the service layer the device is attempting to use. A service layer can coordinate the autonomous update of a device with the proper service layer API which allows the device to then communicate and use services supported by the service layer component to the device. A service layer can detect a device or application lacking proper service layer functionality and can trigger a management entity to update the device or application with the service layer API required such that the device can then register to the service layer and use its services. A device or application can be customized or optimized to the service layer that it is registered to and using.

  • Publication number: 20170208139
Abstract: A system is disclosed for publication and discovery of M2M/IoT services. An M2M gateway system receives resource descriptions from M2M/IoT devices. The gateway system creates for each received resource description an individual web services description language file (WSDL-I file) recording information about the resource. The gateway identifies groups of services with similar characteristics and generates for each identified group a web service description file (WSDL-G file) recording information regarding the group. The WSDL-G files are communicated to a service registry infrastructure (SRI). A consumer system queries the SRI for services satisfying particular criteria and receives WSDL-G files for groups of services that satisfy the criteria. The consumer system requests the WSDL-I files corresponding to a selected WSDL-G files from the gateway.

  • Publication number: 20160366610
Abstract: A method and system for managing radio resources in a time-slotted wireless communication system is based on the quality of service (QoS) information of a user. A plurality of time slots of a radio resource are sorted into a plurality of different categories, such as high QoS time slots, high capacity time slots, and balanced time slots. Each category is associated with a different level of QoS. QoS information with respect to a user is obtained in response to a radio resource request received from the user. The user is associated with a particular category of time slots based on the QoS information of the user.

  • Patent number: 8340051
Abstract: A method and wireless communication system for requesting and obtaining transmit power control (TPC) information. The system includes at least one access point (AP) and at least one wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). When the AP decides to adapt the transmit power level of the WTRU, the AP transmits a TPC request frame to the WTRU. In response to receiving the TPC request frame, the WTRU performs one or more physical measurements and sends a TPC report frame back to the AP.
