  • Publication number: 20060180579
Abstract: A single multidirectional chuck for use with a cutting beam such as a fluid jet is disclosed. The single multidirectional chuck includes a first set of cutting slots oriented in a first direction and a second set of cutting slots oriented in a second direction that is transverse to the first direction. One set of cutting slots extends entirely through the chuck so that the cutting beam may pass therethrough. The other set of cutting slots, which are transverse to the first set, only extend partially into the chuck. The partially extended cutting slots each provide a space that leads to a sacrificial member housed with a cavity in the single chuck. During a cutting operation, the cutting beam passes through the partially extended cutting slots and bombards the sacrificial member. The sacrificial member is configured to sacrifice itself in order to protect the structural components of the chuck.

  • Publication number: 20060155802
Abstract: The invention relates to a method allowing dynamically networking among a plurality of devices to share resource. It includes: installing a software of dynamic networking and resource sharing on each of devices to realize dynamic networking and resource sharing. These devices periodically announce information with multicasting. A device serves as node control device, and announces the message of the existence of the device through multicasting, creates a node. A device can find the node by monitoring announcement message from the node. The device which requests to join into the node device registers its service information that can be provided by the device to the node control device. The device which has joined into the node finds the device providing service by indexing the nodal control device, and obtains desired service from the device by sending a service calling information. The method is applied to home backbone network for performing networking in home network.

  • Publication number: 20060140373
Abstract: This invention discloses a method of calling service among devices in home network, comprising following steps: a service calling party obtains a service handle of the called service by using the characterized information of the service, sends a service calling request information to a called party by using the obtained called service handle; the protocol stack of the called party determines whether or not the called service exists based on the service handle of the called service contained in the request information and whether or not the called service has established a renting relationship with the service calling party after receiving the request information, if not, the flow will be ended; if it is, the called party sends service call response message containing service call result to the service calling party; after receiving the service call response message, the protocol stack of the service calling patty determines whether or not the service exist based on the service handle of the called service inc

  • Publication number: 20060009171
Abstract: A system or method for calibrating an RF transmitter includes inputting a test tone to the RF transmitter. LO leakage calibration is performed on an output of the RF transmitter with the test tone inputted thereto, in order to determine a minimum LO leakage. Thereafter, sideband image calibration is performed on the output of the RF transmitter with the test tone inputted thereto, in order to determine a minimum sideband image. Operational values for the RF transmitter are stored in memory based on the detected minimum LO leakage and the detected minimum sideband image, to be used during a normal operation mode of the RF transmitter.

  • Publication number: 20050289124
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for processing natural language queries. Such methods and systems may receive a natural language query from a user and generate corresponding semantic tokens. Information may be retrieved from a knowledge base using the semantic tokens. Methods and systems may leverage an interpretation module to process and analyze the retrieved information in order to determine an intention associated with the natural language query. Methods and systems may leverage an actuation module to provide results to the user, which may be based on the determined intention.

  • Publication number: 20050282147
Abstract: Genomic imprinting is a parent of origin-dependent gene silencing that involves marking of alleles in the germline and differential expression in somatic cells of the offspring. Imprinted genes and abnormal imprinting have been implicated in development, human disease, and embryonic stem cell transplantation. We have established a model system for genomic imprinting using pluripotent 8.5 d.p.c. mouse embryonic germ (EG) cell lines derived from an interspecific cross. We find that allele-specific imprinted gene expression has been lost in these cells. However, partial restoration of allele-specific silencing can occur for some imprinted genes after in vitro differentiation of EG cells into somatic cell lineages, indicating the presence of a gametic memory that is separable from allele-specific gene silencing. We have also generated a library containing most methylated CpG islands.

  • Publication number: 20050217406
Abstract: To allow a robot performing a cyclic movement upon receipt of a driving force transmitted through a driving force transmission system from a driving source along with a backlash to perform the movement compensated for the backlash, during a first period within a cycle of the movement of the robot, a predetermined first movement control value is repeatedly cumulatively added with a correction value so as to be gradually biased to a predetermined second movement control value over the first period, and during a second period within that cycle, a correction value is repeatedly cumulatively subtracted from the second movement control value so as to gradually return to the first movement control value over the second period, thereby generating the movement control value for controlling the movement of the robot, and based on the movement control value thus generated, the movement of the robot is controlled.

  • Publication number: 20040174929
Abstract: An RSSI circuit provides a relatively inexpensive technique for accurately measuring received signal strength over a wide dynamic range. A received signal is processed by a rectifier circuit that generates a series of DC offsets of increasing magnitude. The DC offsets are imposed on a first polarity of the received signal to create a series of outputs that are the first polarity of the received signal with increasing DC offsets. Each of the outputs is coupled to one input of a weighted comparator with the other input of the comparator coupled to a second and opposite polarity of the received signal with no offset. The comparators provide an inactive output so long as the amplitude of the second polarity of the received signal is greater than the amplitude of the first polarity with the DC offset. The comparators provide an active output when the amplitude of the received signal of the first polarity overcomes the offset to exceed the amplitude of the received signal of the second polarity.
