  • Publication number: 20060080692
Abstract: An optical drive with symmetrical anti-impact structure. A joint is fixed to an optical pick-up and slidably disposed on a guide bar with both ends supported by a base, and a symmetrical bumper is attached to the joint. When the bumper impacts the base, the joint does not deviate from the sliding direction thereof.

  • Patent number: 6991489
Abstract: The present invention provides a connection device for connecting an electrical device. The connection device includes a dielectric housing having a slot formed therein to allow the electrical device to plug in. The slot includes a top surface and a bottom surface. A first bulge portion and a second bulge portion extend downward from the top surface. A third bulge portion and a fourth bulge portion extend upward from the bottom surface. The first bulge portion corresponds to the third bulge portion for clamping the electrical device. The second bulge portion corresponds to the fourth bulge portion for electrically coupling to the electrical device.

  • Publication number: 20050050558
Abstract: A disc-stopping device for preventing disc scratches is disclosed. The disc-stopping device is used in a disc apparatus. The disc apparatus includes a chassis and a tray. The tray, which holds the disc, is movably connected to the chassis and selectively located at an ejection position and an access position. The disc-stopping device includes a stopper and a supporter. The stopper is disposed on the tray and substantially located on a first plane relative to the tray. The supporter is disposed on the chassis. When the tray is located at the ejection position, the disc is located on a second plane relative to the tray. When the tray is located at the access position, the disc is located on the first plane. When the ejection operation of the disc is performed, the supporter supports the disc while the stopper stops the rotation of the disc and the stopper pushes the disc to the ejection position.

  • Publication number: 20050030665
Abstract: A tray braking apparatus for disk drives is provided. The braking apparatus includes a chassis, a tray movably connected to the tray, a friction device disposed on the bottom side of the tray, and a stopper pivotally connected to the chassis. The stopper is selectively located in an initial position or a brake position. When the tray moves relative to the chassis, the friction device drives the stopper from the initial position to the brake position to generate frictional force to slow down the relative movement of the chassis and the tray.
