  • Patent number: 7656949
Abstract: According to the present invention, methods and apparatus for performing efficient inverse transform operations are provided. Zero patterns are identified in a block of transform coefficients to derive zero pattern information. Using the zero pattern information, inverse transform operations are performed on a subset of the columns of the block of transform coefficients. Zero patterns can optionally be identified in the resulting block. One-dimensional inverse transform operations are then performed on the rows of the resulting block to complete the inverse transform. In another example, one-dimensional inverse transform operations can be performed first on the rows and then on the columns.

  • Patent number: 7542782
Abstract: An RF transmitting apparatus is used for converting audio signals output from a sound card of a computer to RF signals and transmitting the RF signals. The RF transmitting apparatus comprises an interface, a modulating module, an amplifying module, a transmitting module, and an antenna. The interface is coupled to the sound card for receiving the audio signals, and rearranging the audio signals to be data packages. The modulating module is coupled to the interface for generating a carrier wave and receiving the data packages, and modulating the carrier wave with the data packages to generate modulated signals. The amplifying module is coupled to the modulating module for amplifying the modulated signals. The transmitting module is coupled to the amplifying module for converting the modulated signals to the RF signals. The antenna is coupled to the transmitting module for transmitting the RF signals.

  • Patent number: 7536643
Abstract: The invention described herein provides a video analysis tool to assist a computer programmer working on a program that effects video data. The tool may be integrated with program code. When enacted, the tool obtains statistical information related to the video data and information corresponding to functions of the code. The code may be responsible for encoding, transcoding, and/or decoding video data, for example. The tool is integrated with a video decoder to allow the information to be output with raw video data. The present invention is particularly useful for developing, debugging and analyzing programs responsible for encoding, transcoding, and/or decoding video data, such as video data compressed according to an MPEG standard.

  • Publication number: 20070030966
Abstract: The present invention teaches methods, systems and articles of manufacture for embedding information within the vertical blanking interval (VBI) of a video signal. Such embedded data may be operative for the control of a set-top-box receiver, VCR, DVD player/recorder, computer or television, or may contain software which may be installed on a receiver unit. Embedded data may include electronic signatures which identify the source of a video signal and may be used as a copy-protection message. The information is inserted into closed caption (CC1) bandwidth. The term CC1 bandwidth refers to the capacity for insertion of closed caption data within Channel 1 of the Line-21 (VBI) of the video program. The CC1 band is especially suited for use in embedding data both because CC1 data is invisible to content viewers and because the United States and other nations require CC1 content to be transmitted with all publicly distributed video content.

  • Patent number: 6950464
Abstract: The invention described herein improves and expedites compressed video data delivery by providing systems and methods for transcoding and pass through on a sub-picture level. For example, in MPEG embodiments described herein, transcoding and compressed video data pass through may occur on a macroblock or slice level. This permits portions of a picture that need no rate reduction to be passed through without transcoding. The invention may also implement pass through on a picture by picture basis. Accordingly, the invention may determine transcoding or pass through for each picture or picture subregion. Thus, systems and methods described herein provide flexible compressed video data transcoding and pass through, as determined by varying bit rate demands of compressed video data transmission.

  • Patent number: 6172600
Abstract: A vehicle condition detecting apparatus utilizes a camera mounted on the rear of a vehicle for providing an image including lines indicative of lane boundaries. The image is processed to determine the distances from the vehicle to each line. The distances are compared with predetermined distances by an image processor. A warning device provides a warning based on variations of observed distances with respect to the predetermined distances to warn the driver if the vehicle begins to drift out of a line.

  • Patent number: 5954559
Abstract: An improved planar color filter structure to reduce defects in the display devices incorporating the color filter structures, including active matrix displays. A color filter substrate has a thicker polyamide black matrix formed thereon and a transparent polyamide layer formed over the black matrix. The transparent layer is exposed through the black matrix and developed to remove the unexposed portions over the black matrix. The resulting surface is substantially planar and facilitates the forming of the remaining layers to form a substantially planar color filter structure.
