  • Patent number: 11503412
Abstract: An acoustic sensor assembly that produces an electrical signal representative of an acoustic signal, includes an acoustic transduction element disposed in a housing and acoustically, a heat source causing air pressure variations within the housing when energized, and an electrical circuit electrically coupled to the acoustic transduction element and to contacts on an external-device interface of the housing, wherein the electrical circuit is configured to energize the heat source and determine a non-acoustic condition or change therein based on an amplitude of air pressure variations detected by the acoustic transduction element.

  • Publication number: 20180058837
Abstract: A device includes a substrate, strain gauges, and a controller coupled to the strain gauges. The substrate has a front surface and an opposing rear surface, the front surface including a button representation and the rear surface including a button area corresponding to the button representation. The strain gauges are mounted on the rear surface in proximity to the button area. The controller receives information indicating multiple electrical signal amplitudes, each of the electrical signal amplitudes corresponding to one strain gauge of the plurality of strain gauges, each electrical signal amplitude representing an amount of deformation of the corresponding strain gauge. The controller estimates a location of a pressure applied and/or the magnitude of force applied on the front surface of the substrate based on the received information. The controller also can receive location information of multiple user presses from a separate set of sensors.

  • Publication number: 20170242527
Abstract: A touch sensitive device including a front panel having a touch surface and a back surface opposite the touch surface. The touch sensitive device further includes one or more vibration transducers mounted to the back surface, and a controller electronically connected to the vibration transducer. The controller receives, from the vibration transducer, a vibration signal, extracts feature information corresponding to predetermined features from the vibration signal, determines, based on the feature information, that a touch occurred within a predefined area of the touch surface, and outputs a signal indicating that the touch occurred within the predefined area of the touch surface.

  • Publication number: 20060181048
Abstract: The present invention provides a weight redistribution system including an axle carrier slideably engaged along a length of a trailer frame, wherein the axle carrier including a threaded fixture and the trailer frame includes parallel longitudinal beams having a plurality of equally spaced openings; an axle carrier positioning means including a motor means and a threaded shaft mounted to the trailer frame being in rotational engagement with the threaded fixture of the axle carrier; a weight monitoring system integrated into the axle carrier; an axle carrier locking means including at least one extendable pin mounted on the axle carrier for locking engagement into one of the equally spaced openings in the longitudinal beams; and a control interface for displaying data from the weight monitoring system, actuating the axle carrier positioning means, and actuating the axle carrier locking means.
