Abstract: A self-propelled hydrofoil device having front and rear foils, a support structure and a steering mechanism. The hydrofoil device is preferably configured such that a user can change the angle of attack of the drive foil and/or the height of the hydrofoil device in the water by placing the handle bar to a corresponding position. The steering mechanism is movably coupled to the user platform in a manner that provides a user with sufficient leverage to move the handle bar. A flexible steering-shaft joining member and dihedral foil configurations, among other features, are disclosed.

Abstract: A skateboard device that achieves forward propulsion from the sideways movement (side-to-side and/or twisting motion) of a user. Various embodiments are disclosed, each including a front and rear wheel assemblies mounted to a board. One or more of the wheel assemblies may have a relatively high axle shaft angle and the axle shaft angles of the two assemblies may be different. The wheel assemblies may have the same orientation or an opposite orientation or be changeable between the two.

Abstract: A collapsible or compactable hydrofoil device having front and rear foils, a support structure and a steering mechanism that may be collapsed into a compact size for transport and storage. The steering mechanism includes several releasably coupled components that are in turn coupled to a drive platform and drive foil. The drive platform may be configured in a plurality of embodiments that each achieve ready disassembly and reassembly. The drive foil may be configured of multiple releasably couplable sections.

Abstract: A motorized hydrofoil water craft that has a substantially horizontally disposed flotation device that may be configured to receive an adult human in a prone, sitting or standing position. The craft includes a hydro foil, a motor, and a steering mechanism. The hydrofoil may have various configurations and be detachable, while the motor may be electric and have an associated battery that is situated underwater in use. The steering mechanism may include a canard and be configured for vertical movement of the canard. Several embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: A skate device that has one or more turnable wheels. In one group of embodiments, the turnable wheels may be linked such that when one wheel turns another wheel turns in a manner that facilitates turning. In another group of embodiments, the turnable wheels are not so linked. The skate device of the present invention may achieve turning from a point underneath the shoe or foot region of the skate, thus more closely approximately turning on ice skates. The skate device may have inline wheels and maybe relatively light-weight and compact.

A turnable wheel assembly is provided that includes two paired wheels, each supported by a movable axle. The turnable wheel assembly is preferably configured such that the paired wheels maintain a parallel relationship and a fixed distance from one another as the skate moves between varying degrees of turning. This configuration permits the paired wheels to be positioned close together. The axles may be supported by movable support members that move in parallel planes. Various embodiments are disclosed including the incorporation of two turnable paired-wheel assemblies in one skate.

Abstract: A reduced size personal computer comprises a base having first and second base portions movably connected to one another. In the preferred embodiment the two base portions are hingedly connected and fold together much like a book. In the extended orientation, the first and second base portions both lie flat on a working surface, such as a tabletop. The first portion typically includes a keypad and a mouse region, and the second portion typically includes internal operating components such as a motherboard and disk drives. A retractable display screen is extended upwardly from a storage compartment in the second base portion to its full, extended height. The screen may be flexible and manufactured with a light-directing texture. Due to the retractable nature of the display screen, the portable computer disclosed herein has a footprint in a stowed orientation that is smaller than the extended size of the screen.

The first and second wheels may be located fore and aft of the foot receiving portion of the skate and one, the other or both may be turnable. Several embodiments are disclosed including, but not limited to, a skate that is turnable by tilting the skate perpendicular to a line-of-direction or that provides turnable, paired wheels or that receives a users foot at a level below the top of the first and second wheels. The skate may provide a skating experience that more closely approximates ice-skating.
