  • Patent number: 12152433
Abstract: A fenestration unit includes a fenestration frame with a first frame member, and a sash including a sash frame to support a glazing unit. The fenestration unit includes a channel defined in one of the first frame member and the sash frame that extends along a first axis. The fenestration unit includes a retainer base associated with the other of the first frame member and the sash frame that extends along the first axis. The fenestration unit includes a retainer removably coupled to the first frame member and the sash frame to removably retain the sash frame on the fenestration frame. The retainer has a first retainer arm, a second retainer arm and a third retainer arm. The third retainer arm is movably coupled to the channel and the first retainer arm is movably coupled to the retainer base.

  • Patent number: 12129701
Abstract: A crank handle assembly for actuating a panel of a fenestration unit relative to a frame includes an arm. The arm is elongate and is configured to be supported at one end by the frame for rotation to actuate the moveable panel relative to the frame. The crank handle assembly also includes a knob that is moveably attached to an opposite end of the arm and that extends therefrom. The knob is supported for movement between an aligned position and a misaligned position relative to the arm. The arm and the knob cooperatively define a crank handle longitudinal axis. The knob, in the aligned position, is aligned with the arm and the crank handle longitudinal axis is straight. The knob, in the misaligned position, is misaligned with the arm, and the crank handle longitudinal axis is nonlinear.

  • Publication number: 20230034789
Abstract: A drip cover for a fenestration unit. The fenestration unit includes a frame and a slideable panel supported for sliding movement within the frame. A gap is defined between the slideable panel and the frame. The drip cover includes a mounting member configured to attach to the slideable panel. The drip cover also includes an overhang that projects from the mounting member and that is configured to cover over the gap when the mounting member is attached to the slideable panel. The overhang is supported for resilient flexure relative to the mounting member between a neutral position and a flexed position. The overhang is resiliently biased toward the neutral position. The overhang, when the mounting member is attached to the slideable panel, is configured to contact a surface, thereby resiliently flexing the overhang between the neutral position and the flexed position, as the slideable panel slides relative to the surface.

  • Patent number: 11371277
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a sliding fenestration system assembly, such as a door or window system. The sliding fenestration system includes a sill having a first track channel and a second track channel formed thereon. A sill track including a first track segment, a second track segment, and a third track segment is coupled to the sill such that the first track segment is positioned within the first track channel, the third track segment is positioned within the second track channel, and the second track segment extends between the first and second track channels. The system further includes a sliding panel having one or more bottom guide assemblies, the assemblies engaging the sill track and operable to accommodate movement of the sliding panel along the sill track to reduce friction at a sealing interface between the sliding panel and the fenestration frame assembly.

  • Publication number: 20210404218
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a lock assembly for fenestration systems, such as sash window assemblies. The lock assembly includes an actuator with a shaft extending through a cavity of a body, where the shaft is coupled to a locking cam for rotation therewith. In this arrangement, rotation of the actuator urges rotation of the shaft within the cavity and corresponding rotation of the locking cam, where the shaft and locking cam are designed to facilitate rotation of the shaft through a greater degree of rotational positions relative to the locking cam.
