  • Patent number: 7179048
Abstract: A cooling apparatus with a mesh structure for cooling a lampwick of a projector. The cooling apparatus includes a blower, an adjustable air duct disposed at an outlet of the blower. The adjustable air duct further includes an air duct portion, a guiding portion, and a mesh structure. The blower blows cooling air to the air duct that is directly formed on the blower or installed on the blower with a separate air duct. The guiding portion is configured at an outlet of the air duct. The mesh structure couples to the guiding portion to move a lower portion of the guiding portion by gravity so that most part of the cooling air is blown to the lampwick through an upper portion of the guiding portion.

  • Patent number: 7149041
Abstract: An optical engine includes a light source, an optical main body and a projection lens. The optical main body includes a reflective light valve, a case, a first heat-dissipating device and a heat-insulating device. The reflective light valve reflects the incident light beam to form an image light beam or a dumped light beam that is not projected into the projection lens. The case encloses the light paths of the incident light beam, the image light beam and the dumped light beam. An opening is on the case for the dumped light beam to be projected into. A first heat-dissipating device is fixed on the case and covers the opening for removing the heat generated by the dumped light beam. A heat-insulating device is disposed between the first heat-dissipating device and the case for preventing the heat conduction between the first heat-dissipating device and the case.

  • Patent number: 7018049
Abstract: A projection cooling apparatus comprises a first cooling path and a second cooling path. The first cooling path includes a temperature sensor and an exhaust fan respectively installed in an inlet and an outlet of the first cooling path. The second cooling path includes a temperature sensor, a power supply unit, and a guiding fan. According to the detecting temperature resulted from the change of power supply and the environmental temperature, the temperature sensors of the first and second cooling path control the rotational speed of two sets of the fans to reach the best cooling effect, reduce the noises and extend the lifetime of the fan.

  • Publication number: 20050200814
Abstract: A control method for cooling a projection display, wherein a pressure sensor automatically detects the elevation above sea level of a projection display and then transmits a signal to the control unit for controlling the cooling unit to operate in a corresponding cooling mode, thereby the cooling efficiency varies with the elevation above sea level and then the cooling unit can operate in a corresponding rotating speed in order to effectively cool the whole projection display and increase the flexibility in using the projection display, and further extend the lifetime of each component inside the projection display.

  • Patent number: 6846096
Abstract: The present invention discloses a partition is incorporated into the case of the projector so as to separate the optical system and the circuitry system. A circuitry fan is used to cool the circuitry system. The optical system is cooled by a suction fan. The cooling air is drawn in by the suction fan and directed to a lamp case through an air duct so as to cool a burner within the lamp case. The heat air is then directed to manifold duct. A first outlet of the manifold duct is directed through an exhausting duct to an exhausting fan. The other outlet of the manifold duct is directed to the circuitry fan. As a result, the heated air is discharged out of the case by those two cooling fans so as to evenly discharge the heated airflow from the lamp case, reducing the heat load of the fan and prolongs the lifespan of the fan.

  • Patent number: 6739831
Abstract: A cooling device for projector, comprising a light source, an exhaust fan, an air directing fan, an air duct, air inlet windows, an optical engine, a circuit board, a light cut, and a power supply to constitute a projector device with high brightness and high contrast. The projector includes a design that directs hot air flow directly into fan blades of an exhaust fan, thereby effectively reducing adverse effects and solving problems of conventional technology, such as failure to direct hot air flow into the fan blades of the exhaust fan, resulting in excessively high average temperature in the fan hub area that is in alignment with the hot air current, and high working temperature of motor bearings, control circuits, rotors and stators in the fan hub, so that the fan hub can be operating under lower temperatures, thereby enhancing normal performance, effective working life and reliability of the fan and the projector.
