Abstract: A multistage, double closed-loop process and apparatus for organic destruction and removal of volatile organics compounds (VOCs), semi-volatile organic compounds, and halogen acids, removal of toxic metals, and recovery of precious metals and hydrocarbon fuels from gaseous, liquid, and surface-contaminated solid waste streams. Organic destruction of heavy-molecule VOCs is accomplished in a non-combustion thermal reactor by means of thermal energy. Further organic destruction is accomplished by catalytic oxidation. Removing toxic heavy metals or recovering precious metals is accomplished in a bubble-bed reactor in which sub-micron size particles of heavy metals are nucleated, condensed, and deposited onto particles comprising the bed. Acid, particulate, and gas sorbing further remove hazardous substances. Hydrocarbon fuels are recovered by condensing. The process involves high temperature recycling without use of air combustion or incineration to promote a very high degree of decontamination.

Abstract: A portable electric fan including a plurality of posts connectable to form an elongated pole having first and second ends; a pedestal attached to the first end of the pole and adapted to provide support thereof on a base surface; and a clamp attached to the second end of the pole and adapted for clamping engagement with an upper surface spaced from the base surface. Also included is an adjustment mechanism for adjusting the length of the pole and a blower retained by the pole.

Abstract: A portable electric fan including a housing defining an air inlet opening and an air outlet opening; a fan blade rotatably mounted within the housing and operable to produce air flow between the inlet opening and the outlet opening; an electric motor operatively coupled to the fan blade; a support attached to the housing; and a base retaining the support and defining a substantially planar support surface for engaging a substantially horizontal foundation surface, the base and surface adapted to stabily support the electric fan on the foundation surface. Also included with the fan is a clamp manually activatable into clamping engagement with a mounting so as to support the electric fan therefrom.

Abstract: A portable electric fan including a base having an upwardly directed coupling surface and a bottom surface for mounting on a foundation; a support having a downwardly directed coupling surface rotatably mounted on the upwardly directed coupling surface; a housing fixed to the support so as to be movable therewith, a fan blade retained by the housing; and an electric motor operatively coupled to said fan blade and energizable to produce rotation thereof. The coupling surfaces are shaped and arranged to produce in response to rotation of the support relative to the base, movement of the housing having both horizontal and vertical components.

Abstract: A humidifier with a removable water tank having a carrying handle projecting downwardly from the tank's bottom surface to a plane parallel therewith and below a downwardly projecting outlet valve. The handle facilitates transport of the tank with the bottom surface facing upwardly and support of the tank on a horizontal support surface.

Abstract: A supporting mechanism for an ankle massager includes a base member, a supporting bracket, a cushion and a frame member. The supporting bracket has a W-shape seating contour for receiving the cushion. The frame member is enclosed to the cushion and the supporting bracket in such a manner that the cushion is sandwiched between the supporting bracket and the frame member. The base member further includes a supporting post which is mechanically engaged with a trigger shaft of the massager.

Abstract: A foot massager includes a casing, an L-shaped mount having a horizontal wall fastened to the bottom of the casing and a vertical wall upstanding from the bottom of the casing, a motor horizontally mounted on the L-shaped mount, a foot rest suspended above the casing, an eccentric wheel driven by the motor through the mandrel of a speed reducing gear to oscillate the foot rest through an oscillating element via two links vertically disposed in parallel, each link having a top end pivoted to the vertical wall of the L-shaped mount and a bottom end pivoted to the oscillating element. The oscillating element has a top end connected to the foot rest, an elongated guide groove vertically disposed in the middle between the links and the eccentric wheel has a transmission shaft perpendicularly inserted into the elongated guide groove and turned to move back and forth along the elongated guide groove, causing the foot rest to oscillate.
