  • Patent number: 9946660
Abstract: Examples include a device for memory space management. Some examples include receiving, from a host, a space management request that identifies a virtual page address. The virtual page address may be associated with a compressed page that includes a compression metadata having a reference count that indicates a number of virtual pages of data in the compressed page. The virtual page table entry associated with the virtual page address in a virtual page table may be looked up. The virtual page table entry may identify the compressed page. In such examples, the virtual page table entry may be marked as invalid without updating the reference count in the compressed page. A determination may be made as to whether each virtual page table entry that identifies the compressed page is marked invalid. Based on the determination that each virtual page table entry that identifies the compressed page is invalid, a free space bitmap entry for the compressed page may be updated to indicate that the compressed page is free.

  • Patent number: 9936453
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. The described techniques allow a user equipment (UE) to conserve power after transitioning from one coverage mode to another coverage mode based on power consumption estimates. The UE may make a determination on whether to modify its current extended discontinuous reception (eDRX) values by either triggering an unscheduled timing update or waiting for a scheduled timing update. For instance, the UE may estimate power consumption based on current eDRX values and the time remaining until a scheduled timing update procedure and compare this estimate to power consumption estimate based on modified eDRX values and the amount of power consumed to perform an unscheduled timing update procedure. Based on the comparison, the UE may update its eDRX values through an unscheduled TAU or through the regularly scheduled TAU procedure.

  • Publication number: 20150327156
Abstract: A mobile device determines that a primary cell (PCell) and a secondary cell (SCell) belong to a same multicast-broadcast single frequency network (MBSFN) area or that the PCell and the SCell can broadcast the same service. The mobile device determines a communication state of the SCell. If the SCell is active, the mobile device compares signal quality on the PCell and the SCell and selects to decode broadcast content on the PCell or the SCell. If the communication state indicating the SCell is deactivated or released, the mobile device switches to decode the broadcast content on the PCell. If the SCell is released and if the mobile device determines that the PCell is also released, then the mobile device switches to decode the broadcast content on the PCell and initiates a neighbor cell search.

  • Patent number: 8880520
Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards managing a display of search results by employing a query-classification for a search query to selectively display trust search results that are displayed distinct from non-trust search results. A search query is classified into a query-class. A search is then performed over non-trust sources, and selectively over trust data sources to obtain non-trust and trust search results, respectively. The trust search results are rank ordered based on various categories of search criteria, including, for example, explicit and implicit relationships. Based on the query-class, a different number of trust search results may be displayed. Further, a position for which the trust search results may be displayed may be based on the query-class. Moreover, the non-trust search results displayed distinct or separate from the trust search results to readily distinguish a type of source of the search results.
