  • Publication number: 20070071595
Abstract: A turbocharger comprises a center housing (3) and a turbine housing (1) with a variable nozzle device arranged there between. The turbocharger further comprises an annular arrangement of adjustable vanes (7) interposed in an annular nozzle (9) for defining a plurality of nozzle passages, wherein the vanes (7) are axially resiliently supported on the center housing (3) or the turbine housing (601), respectively.

  • Publication number: 20070047593
Abstract: Write logic and read logic are coupled to SDRAM and a frame status table. VCG members are written into SDRAM by the write logic and an entry (based on the MFI and SQ) in the frame status table is maintained by the write logic for each member. The read logic scans the frame status table to identify the earliest frame number for which data is available in SDRAM. Based on the frame status and the address pointer offset, the read logic maintains a state table entry for each VCG member and a state for each VCG. According to the preferred embodiment, the read logic is provided in two parts separated by a temporary buffer. The first part of the read logic performs the functions described above and writes chunk data into the temporary buffer. The second part of the read logic reads byte data from the temporary buffer according to a selectable leak rate.

  • Patent number: 6955528
Abstract: A turbocharger including center housing with a thermally decoupling flange is provided. The flange, which extends generally radially outward from a body of the center housing, has a connection portion that can be used to mount the center housing to a turbine housing of the turbocharger. A curved portion of the flange is disposed between the connection portion and the housing body and provides a thermal decouple for reducing the thermal gradient in the connection portion. The curved portion can also increase the flexibility of the flange to reduce the stresses therein that result from temperature variations in the center housing.

  • Publication number: 20040199387
Abstract: A method and system is described which allows users to identify (pre-recorded) sounds such as music, radio broadcast, commercials, and other audio signals in almost any environment. The audio signal (or sound) must be a recording represented in a database of recordings. The service can quickly identify the signal from just a few seconds of excerption, while tolerating high noise and distortion. Once the signal is identified to the user, the user may perform transactions interactively in real-time or offline using the identification information.

  • Patent number: 6481970
Abstract: A compressor wheel (10) for a turbocharger having a prestressed hub (16) with an interference fit insert sized to provide the predetermined stress at zero rotational speed. The predetermined prestress then results in a reduced operating stress level during high speed rotation of the wheel, reducing the potential for reaching failure level stresses in operation and increasing wheel life.

  • Publication number: 20020161741
Abstract: A method for automatically creating a database of parameters (e.g., fingerprints/landmarks) used in a media sample recognition system. The user places a media sample in his media player, e.g., a CD or DVD player in his personal computer. A software process installed on the user's personal computer, to which is connected the CD/DVD player, extracts the constellation or “raw parameters” from the CD tracks as the CD plays, or under control of the software process. This extraction process may operate in the background. These raw parameters are then transmitted via the Internet (or other computer network) to a server coupled to a recognition database. The raw parameters are stored in the database. At some point in time, the raw parameters are processed into fingerprint/landmarks (e.g., using linkage) using another software process and then stored either back in the database or in random access memory (RAM) for use during a subsequent recognition process.

  • Publication number: 20020072982
Abstract: A method and system for provides a user with an ability to capture a sample of an experiential environment and deliver that sample to an interactive service to trigger one or more predetermined events. In exemplary embodiments of the invention such triggered events include the delivery of information and services to the user, the execution of tasks and instructions by the service on the user's behalf, communication events, surveillance events and other control-oriented events that are responsive to the user's wishes. In other exemplary embodiments of the invention, the triggered events include transaction-oriented events, entertainment events, and events associated with enhancements to human ability or function.
