Abstract: Aspects herein are directed to an upper-body garment having a collar construction formed from a back collar panel and at least one front collar panel, where each of the back collar panel at the front collar panel comprise terminal ends. The terminal ends of the front collar panel and the back collar panel are in an overlapping relationship at a first side and a second side of a neck opening of the upper-body garment. The terminal ends of the front collar panel are detached from the terminal ends of the back collar panel to provide enhanced stretch at the lateral sides of the neck opening when donning and doffing the upper-body garment.

The multi-layer nursing bra includes an outer layer positioned over an inner layer. One or more edges of the outer layer and one or more edges of the inner layer may be manipulated to form an opening for breast feeding. The nursing bra system is composed of the multi-layer nursing bra and an upper-body garment configured to be layered over the multi-layer nursing bra. The upper-body garment includes a nursing opening on a front portion of the upper-body garment to provide access to the opening created in the multi-layer nursing bra when needed.

The crotch portion can include a spacer fabric layer configured to be positioned adjacent to a wearer's body surface, and a moisture-barrier layer secured to the spacer fabric layer and configured to be face outward.

The back portion is connected to the breast contacting portion by a pair of side portions, and the pair of shoulder straps extend from the upper chest portion to the back portion. The breast contacting portion comprises a three-layer construction comprising an outer layer, an inner layer, and a spacer mesh material positioned between the outer layer and the inner layer, which provides modesty to the breast contacting area. Additionally, the upper chest portion comprises a two-layer construction comprising an inner layer and an outer layer.
